Very old and durable hymn. Choirs and congregations will be singing this long after we're gone.

Achille Blaize is the human instrument that God used to kick-start the reformed movement in Zambia in 1990. After his powerful expositions, several young baptist churches proceeded to adopt the 1689 BCF.

Look at Spurgeons portrait of him doing his freemason hand sign.. He was just another wolf in sheep's clothing who taught a false gospel of works.

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. 21 IN thy strength the king rejoices, O LORD; and in thy help how greatly exults ! 2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withheld the request of his lips. Selah For thou dost meet him with goodly 3 blessings; thou dost set a crown of fine gold upon his head. He asked life of thee; thou gavest it to 4 him, length of days for ever and ever. His glory is great through thy help; 5 splendour and majesty thou dost bestow upon him. Yea, thou dost make him most blessed for 6 ever; thou dost make him glad with the joy of thy presence. For the king trusts in the LORD; 7 and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved. Your hand will find out all your enemies; 8 your right hand will find out those who hate you. You will make them as a blazing oven when 9 you appear. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath; and fire will consume them. You will destroy their offspring from the. 10 earth, and their children from among the sons of men. If they plan evil against you, 11 if they devise mischief, they will not succeed. For you will put them to fight; 12 you will aim at their faces with your bows. Be exulted, O LORD, in thy strength ! 13 We will sing and praise thy power.

Dear Bibliosca, the first Amendment not only protects the Church from the State, it protects my Church from yours and your Church from mine, should they chance to differ. Thanks be to God. Old Tom Jefferson, the old Deist free thinker , worked together with the Baptists in Virginia to enforce the freedom of the Baptists to worship and preach, against the Established Anglican Church, Church of England to suppress them. What would my good fundamentalist cousin say about that? Im a pretty orthodox, even pietist, Christian, near fundamentalist, born into a Congregartional family, got saved on my Moms Moms knee very young some 70 years ago, 'confirmed' you might say, when Dads Mom sent me the Back to the Bibles youth paper, which had a convincing account of why it'd be a god idea for me to get saved. I already knew Jesus, so I did. I confessed him as Lord, and as my risen Lord. Ive wandered several times, but lie a good shepherd he's alwatya s brought me back.I aint never gonna a wander again.I am now a member of an ELCA Lutheran congregation, that. preaches the Gospel, and practicea it in worship, and in service to our city. Succinctly, we walk the Jesus walk, and only then do we talk the Jesus talk. Its a balanced Christianity such as Ive always wanted

Amazing history of pastor Fawcett. My father was a Baptist minister and was descended from William Farrar, immigrant to Virginia 1618. William Farrar was the son of John Farrar, lord of the manor of Ewood and Brearley Hall. John Farrar inherited from his elder brother William Farrar who d. 1610. Their parents were William Farrar of Ewood and Margaret Lacy, daughter of Hugh Lacy of Brearley Hall. My dad would have found this history tying his family with the Fawcetts to be extremely interesting.

Good quote. But most secular people today directly thank the person who benefitted them. For example, they misrepresent the story of the first Thanksgiving by saying the Pilgrims thanked the Native People for their help, which is inaccurate but acceptable to atheists.
