This popped up last weekend when I was visiting friends. I have zero religion, so everyone was surprised when I joined in. In German!! Clearly, 6 yrs at one of our top three Public Schools almost 40 years ago had left its mark!! There are a number of hymn tunes that might have been specifically written for all-boys schools.

This is absolutely beautiful. I was unfamiliar with Harry Secombe but his voice is equal to any opera Heldentenor I have ever heard. And I love this hymn as well. Just listened to it 3 times in a row. Think I'll go back for a 4th!

G.K. Chesterton said, "The worst moment for the atheist is when he is really thankful and has no one to thank."

Good quote. But most secular people today directly thank the person who benefitted them. For example, they misrepresent the story of the first Thanksgiving by saying the Pilgrims thanked the Native People for their help, which is inaccurate but acceptable to atheists.
