Hola buenas. Tengo la misma moto (de 2013) y quería ponerle los intermitentes con la luz diurna como la 300L. Sé cómo hacer la instalación eléctrica pero me gustaría saber dónde comprar los intermitentes. Sirven los de la 300L? Muchas gracias

Mine is a 2013 as well. I don’t know if the 300L ones would work. The only turn signal modification I’ve done was the integrated turn signal/brake light to replace the massive brake light/turn signal stock fender. I bought the DRC Edge2 kit and it had everything I needed to get it connected. It did cause a rapid flash on the front turn signals, but I don’t mind.

Disconnecting the battery before changing the spark plugs isn’t required, but does add an extra safety factor. My spark plug socket has a rubber insert built-in that holds the spark plug in place for removing or inserting spark plugs.

The coil packs mount directly on each plug, so the wires that connect to the coil packs should last the life of the engine…

Does it look like it’s been changed before and sealed up with RTV silicone? The rubber gasket typically doesn’t hold that strongly. If you have a pry tool, you could probably get it started and the rest of the pan will follow. Just be careful not to scratch up the bottom of the transmission housing or damage the pan.

It doesn’t sound like you have an alternator problem either as a bad alternator will cause the electronics to drain your battery, then you wouldn’t be able to start it back after the bike dies. You should look up how to check ECM fault codes and go from there.

You could take the actuator off, separate the two halves, reposition the output shaft, then put it all back together and reinstall after twisting the door position manually. Not the easiest thing to do, but totally possible.

You’re video was super helpful but I didn’t have an easy of of a time as you did. When I went to pull the filter out the neck snapped off and I had to chisel that out. Once I thought I had the seal out I tried to put the new one in but it wouldn’t go. Saw there was still a thin band of metal in the opening. Had to use an ice pick to get behind it and pry it out. Finally got it all done and I’ll never do it again 😂

There are several problems it could be, but they are beyond the scope of a DIY repair. I doubt a transmission fluid change would fix anything. I would suggest finding a local transmission shop and letting them diagnose it.

Mine came loose in the package, so I don’t have any tips to take it off. It’s supposed to be a tight fit on the filter, so I would imagine it would be rather hard to remove.

Hi, I've been to 5 different Home Depots and they all tell me that they can't cut the keys... that only the agency does it or the famous locksmith 🤦🏻‍♂️.. so I just brought the fob keys for nothing.. thank you for ur advice video..
@FixandMaintain
@FixandMaintain 29 күн бұрын
I’m sorry to hear they wouldn’t cut it for you. Did they have the same Hillman machine that was in my video? The associate that helped me was very skeptical that it would even work and warned me that it could ruin the key. After I assured him I was ok if it didn’t work, he had to “trick” the machine to cutting it by scanning the barcode on one of their #28 blanks and using the “B” slot on the machine (he did have to hold it in the whole time for the machine to cut it). So, their machine WILL cut it, it just may take the right associate and possibly a little coaching. An older, more basic key cutting machine will also work, but that would depend on if you have a local hardware store that has a machine like that.

First off, thank you for this! This is the best install video available for this setup. Two questions: 1) Did you notice a significant reduction in volume? 2) Did you retain steering wheel controls? I installed one in my 2012 SX with factory amp and navigation. I've gotten everything to work except for the SWC, and the volume seems significantly lower for me. I'm thinking my amp retention module is passing sound through but not actually powering the amp. Not sure just yet.
@FixandMaintain
@FixandMaintain 29 күн бұрын
You’re welcome! 1. No, I didn’t notice any reduction in volume. My model has the low-end audio package (doesn’t even have a sub), so like you said, you may have an additional amp that isn’t getting a signal to turn on? 2. Steering wheel controls work great on my setup. Did you get a CAN Bus module with your radio? If so, was it programmed to your model? Thankfully mine worked straight out of the box, but possibly there’s something wrong with the programming on yours?
@Bonswa01
@Bonswa01 28 күн бұрын
@@FixandMaintain Yes, I tried the CAN Bus, but I didn't even test the SWC because I had no audio with it. The out the box harness didn't support the amp. I'm sure it's all related. It would have been MUCH easier for me if I wasn't trying to retain the factory amp. Last ditch effort will be to go aftermarket with the amp, because I really do like the head unit.

@FixandMaintain
@FixandMaintain Ай бұрын
Getting a fob for you should be even easier than this. If you have a column shifter, this switchblade style of key probably won’t work, but you can get just a basic fob like this: amzn.to/3CZn7qN. Double check to make sure that specific fob is compatible with your truck. Then, I believe you should have a “Relearn Remote Key” option on the DIC by pressing the Vehicle Information button several times. Once you activate that mode, just press the lock & unlock buttons on the new remote to pair it!

Great video. I was also researching and found a TSB for upgraded magnets for the 4T65E Transmission pan. And a diagram for the placement of a 2nd magnet. Of course I didn't know this at the time I did the pan drop. But the sediment comes loose from the original magnet. Finding its way to the 1-2 shift solenoid. I religiously changed my fluid every 20 to 25k. The solenoid still has that intermittent problem. But over the last couple years. It went away. Anyone who has that delay and jerk in takeoff from a light. Or from reverse to drive. Just shift to 1st and go. Shifting to drive after you get going. Doing this will raise that line pressure ever so slightly. Making that solenoid work properly. After I do the initial pan drop and fill. I siphon out 1 gallon per year. And replace with new fluid. That solenoid problem is non-existent now. Hope this helps someone. It definitely worked for me. Thank You

I want to get it up and running again but haven’t even tried to start it as I suppose that won’t be the best idea without changing the oil and etc. Any step-by-step guide on what to do if the bike was not used for more than a year?

Wow, mine is a 2013 model with over 35,000km on it! The main things to go over are engine oil (break-in oil needs to be changed at 1,000km anyway), brake fluid, lube the chain, check and possibly replace the coolant, and check the tires for age and possible dry rotting. You may need to replace the battery as well, but depends on how well it starts once you start riding.
