Sorry, man. That's medium old school. There is no hammer block. That's a rebounding hammer. Spring returns it to the first notch on the sear. Yep, that keeps the hammer pin from resting on a primer. It's mostly, probably, pretty much, usually, almost always, drop safe. The newer Smith and Wessons with the firing pin in the frame have a hammer block. Except some of the internal hammer revolvers which still have a rebounding hammer.

Ever heard people say not to dry fire rim fired guns you could damage them you’re actually the first person I’ve heard say oh you can dry fire your rimfire 22
@Baasicstuff2 күн бұрын
Think you heard wrong, but yes you can dry fire SOME rim fire guns. Rim fire is an ammo type, many rimfire type guns allow the pin to strike the rim of the inner barrel, this wears the pin down in many cases to now not make contact with the shell hard enough to fire a shot. Now there are some 22 rimfire type guns that are built very robust and in some cases have been engineered to withstand dry firing. I have provided a list of these guns in some of my replies, BUT this is not gospel, always read your guns instructions and the Cations and Warnings to know if you can. READ THE DIRECTIONS; this is my entire point of the video, NOT what some clown on the internet says or FUDLORE, like all centerfire guns can be safely dry fired; which all cannot, and no antique gun should ever be. Now another point I may make, its your gun, you can sleep with it, lather it up is baby oil and take it to lunch, its your gun, but for those that wish to go to the next level, I hope you will now READ, not be lazy and think you know; which most do not, cause most folks just are not inspired to say read the directions. oOWe no directions? Google the manufacturer
@Vinnie_Paz_Da_GOAT2 күн бұрын
It might be safe to dry fire, but is it good for your gun and many cases the answer is no if it’s Striker fired don’t be dry firing it unless you wanna pay money to have the firing pin fixed you could break a fire pin you could break the fire and pin assembly if it’s a revolver, don’t ever drive it cause it could be very expensive to replace the hammer since the firing pin is attached to the hammer same thing with a side-by-side double barrel shotgun the firing pin is attached to the hammer don’t dry fire. those really if you are, worried at all about breaking your gun and having to spend money to fix it don’t dry fire it if money is not an issue and you don’t mind breaking your firearm and not having it for few months then go ahead dry fire at all you want
@BaasicstuffКүн бұрын

Hi! I know that this is unrelated to this specific video. I watched your video about dry firing a shotgun and how bad it is. Well i got a 1986 spanish over under passed down from my grandfather that passed away. It has a lot of sentimental value and i love it. I wait for the paperwork to finish until i can actually shoot. But my dumb @ss dry fired it twice. Would there be any damage? The pins look ok but idk. I just hope 2 dry fires didn’t damage it🙏
@Baasicstuff2 күн бұрын
@@ΝικόλαςΒαρβαρέσος-κ5σ no it should be fine. Most guns can take a couple hundred dry fires in most cases but yes, in those rare occasions Murphy’s Law does kick in 🪦

Kenwood, Icom, Yaesu, can not compete with the budget minded transceivers. The budget minded transceviers have more power, more frequncies, more features, better aesthetics, and far more partipherals. Should I ever become an amateur radio operator, I probably will buy from the money mongers very sparingly.
@BaasicstuffКүн бұрын
Kenwoods are full of Chinese stuff, same stuff but more money, less unlock features also. Warranty may be better but if you buy from a place like buytwowayradios they have a better return policy ... I buy from the guys in my links; I always get what's advertised
