Thank you Craig! Folks bring me all sorts of machines they attempted to repair themselves. Hadn’t seen this one before. Of course they almost destroyed parts of a brand new Rancher 450. Tried to put it back together, failed. Then took the entire Brake assembly apart. Thanks for sharing Sir, this was a big help!

got an SourceOne PL400 aerator, now Billy Goat. The diagram specifies Honda GX160 engine and transmission. The engine RPM is 3600. Are you sure the aerator transmission is 6 to 1, or 600 RPM? Was looking for this clarification all over the place. Thank you.

Thank you so very much. This was driving me crazy. This issue happened just as you said. I was cutting a very small branch, and it woudln't reve up very much afterwards. I thought it was the carberator (sp) and was going nuts. My wife found this video, we did it and it works! I have a 450 and it works fine, but this happened on the 460 I just bought.

Thanks for this video! I was just about to order a cheaply made tool to use once(!) to reset the brake. Followed your video, got the 'pop' and back in business.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle kzbin.infoUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Not a great idea, a lot of times you're gonna wind up with a fairly bad cut. The kevlar doesn't work as armor that protects your leg but rather as fibers that jam the saw, so the saw still has a chance to cut you before it jams. But they will keep your leg from getting removed.

Very informative video. Thanks. I just bought a new saw and would have been pulling my hair out because my chain brake was engaged. I hadn’t pried it off yet( gaurd cover) so I just released the chain brake and installed my bar and chain. Instructions manual were absolute crap with this saw. My biggest complaint for future issues if KZbin is ever possibly down like in the great reset.
