Very nice review... just rode my two bikes for the last seasons ride here in Minnesota, USA. 28 DEGREES and I was the only bike on the highways. I will ride till the salt and snow. thanks for this report. may buy this machine as a third bike.

Not inspired whatsoever to have one of these over my 1250. Its a very expensive "upgrade" of a bike that is still brilliant. And personally I just cant get past the looks ( some videos have taken to stating the looks dont really matter.... they do for me !), it is dreadful.

You would be more suited to the 1200X with 820 mm seat height or the 1200XE. I'm 5'7" 65 kgs so this bike felt perfect for me. I could get my toe section on both sides on the ground & could probably flat foot on 1 side.

@@simotofoto I've jsut ridden a 2019 Triumph Street Scrambler. Only done 7,000 km-like new & never been off road. Has a pannier bag for touring. Royal enfield have the new Bear 650 scrambler coming out which would be about the same money but brand new. Only advantage of the Bear 650 is the Low up swept pipe means you can carry luggage on both sides & gets heat/noise away from pillion. ALso it's 216 kg so little less weight but has an 830 mm seat height. I've had Himalayan's & presently have a meteor 350. Himalayan 200 kg on weigh bridge & Meteor 350 190 kg on weigh bridge but both felt heavy & my Meteor you certainly notice the weight as it must carry it high up. The triumph on the other had is slightly heavier than the Bear 650 but didn't feel as heavy to me & felt really well balanced. On my test ride I even got up on the pegs which felt comfortable. I like to do lite off road to explore with 1 or 2 river crossings. I'm nervous about the Bear 650 due to reputation of Royal Enfield of where they carry the weight. Also if I got this bike & I was doing a river crossing would you recommend leaving abs & traction control on or turning it off through off road mode?

@@frankpinion4937 hey Frank if im tackling off road I switch all the electronics off to be honest, if there is a dedicated off road pro mode on a bike then fine, other than that its all off, :)

I am a 1250gsa owner, bought it the day it came to the dealer. Now I had my day on the 1300 with ASA and even while I vowed to not buy another one, at 67 I bought the rally version. What an improvement on an already great machine.

Hi Si great real world review. So thanks for that. Id already decided to trade in my 1250 GSA to the 1300 GSA but wasn’t convinced about the ASA. But ive decided to rethink. How was the engine breaking ? Find I like that on the 1250 and did yourself reaching for the clutch out of muscle memory at low speeds. The measure of low speed stress is the green wellie parking on a busy day!! 😂
@simotofoto
@simotofoto 6 күн бұрын
Glad it was helpful Jeremy, engine breaking must have been the same as the 1250 as I wasn't really conscious of it being any different. I wasn't reaching for the clutch at all to be honest but in under emergency conditions that might be different lol. I'm with you regarding Green Welly parking lol under the spotlight big time lol

The information you give is vital for a potential buyer. you sound like you genuinely liked the bike. I am looking for a bike to replace my Honda CBF600SA which is brilliant, but getting long in the tooth. I want a bike which has accesable power and a bit of touring capability with a bit of a fairing. (An allrounder).I'll test this Susuki now for sure in hope it suits me too and let you know if I buy it!

First of all great video and I love Scottish accents, so it was a joy to listen to as well . This is my fifth motorcycle over the years as a road bike. I’ve owned two Harleys, the 100th anniversary and now fortunately enough the 2024 Bonneville T120 DGR Black; I’ve seen no less than two dozen reviews on this bike prior to purchasing it as it’s always been a dream of mine to own a Triumph. Without a doubt, this is the best spike I’ve ever owned, the most comfortable, the sportiest modern retro on the market. An absolute joy to own and ride.

Really enjoyed your review....and a few of your videos. Great work, informative, engaging, and even inspires me to go get the 900 GT pro. I've currently got the restricted 660, which I love and is a great bike. And, yes, the seat comfort is amazing...multi-day rides are an easy dream. Wanting the 900 for more power, torque and for long distance touring. Can you dm or tag me about whether the 900 gt Pro seat the same/better/worse comfort than the 660? Thanks, again.
