Does it matter if you wind them around the string clockwise or counter clockwise? What about other plants?

My beetroot has started to bolt already! The variety is golden burpees, multi sown in February and planted out in March. I've never seen this before, normally they flower on year two if left in the ground. And all crimson broad beans not making pods but superaguadulce all are? Unusual year with all this rain... Any ideas?

This year I was trying out a few new varieties and those behave really strange when it comes to side shoots! For some of them, the trusses keep on growing leaves and I have to cut off the tips. In one instance I was kinda lucky there since the plant ended in a flower truss.

I agree with you, I find the trusses grow all sorts of leaves and shoots off the end of them, mainly cherries, and larger beefsteak varieties split into two leaders in the blink of an eye with no obvious side shoot to prune out. I’ve already got a few plants I’m training two stems off! More toms hopefully 🤞

All i can say after more than half a century of gardening is dont be so quick at chopping down your nettles and brambles around your beds very little damage from slugs I don't like getting stung and they don't either as always happy gardening Richardx

My garlic planted outdoors in September looked fine until a few weeks ago, when it began to get rust. I dug them up today to find mostly small bulbs with quite a few bulbs covered in a white mold. I am guessing this is white rot? I have shallots which were interplanted in the same bed, and now concerned they will get white rot too.

I told my son to look under the containers and he found a bunch. They like it under your pots where it's nice a moist so if you can't get out at night, check under your containers in the morning.

I have tried to grow melons for 9 or 10 years now and have mostly failed. I never give up and this year is no different! This was a great way to brush up on my melon growing knowledge; I think I have sufficient heat and I'm trying to water more consistently and see if that fixes my problem. Thanks for the tips and here's hoping I get some fantastic melons this year!

We have a huge problem with Northern Dock in my area. Everyone recommends avoiding them in the compost as they apparently survive. Any thoughts?

Hey Charles, something strange happened my garlic. The leaves were completley destroyed by wind & now it looks like each individual clove is sending up new leaves (I already removed the scapes). I pulled one up and it looks like the bulb has blown open and each individual clove is exposed & is sending up leaves. Does this mean the garlic is no good anymore or will a skin form over them to make a head? thanks

Hi Charles I didn't know that carrots turned into flowers, I just didn't know that🌞 I've never seen anything as beautiful, they look like Queen Anne's lace. Is that a particular carrot seed or just any carrot seeds. I'm going to plant some carrot seeds just for the flowers. Your gardens are always so beautiful, it touches my soul to look at them, I can almost smell it. Knowing that my garden will never look like yours, it makes me so happy to see it. God bless y'all Jude, from Kentucky ✝️🐴🇺🇸🌱🥕 I'm asking questions as a watch the video so I don't forget. How do you keep your potatoes over winter without them going bad, what kind of bag do you keep them in and do you store them in the cellar?
