Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 60/601/602 are great amplifiers. They are all tube signal path and feature a parallel effects loop. And as far as I know, don't suffer from the thermal issues that lead to severe power tube bias drift as the TSL 100 amps did, before the main board upgrade by Marshall themselves from 2005 and onward. The main issue however with the TSL 60/601/602 amplifiers are the cheap transformers from the factory. I replaced both the mains and output transformers on my TSL 602, which I converted to a head, with Mercury Magnetics 'Axiom' line of transformers and installed a proper choke in place of the resistor. The circuit is dead factory stock and unaltered. That made a mega huge difference in improving the tone in all three channels of my TSL 602 'head'. Expensive, but worth it, as that upgrade took the sonic capabilities of my amp to a whole new level. Especially when cranked up quite loud as any Marshall amp should be. If you can get one, I highly recommend these Marshall amplifiers. Cheers!

Duchy! Please help! Hitting the Onion switcher everytime i want to engage FX Loop in other amp is extremely inconvenient when going into/out of a solo. Would it work if the switcher was permanently engaged? So when i switch amps on-the-fly the FX Loop is already angaged on the other amp.. Please help! - Love your work and thankyou for it 😊

This is perfect. I truly recommend the app to ALL levels of musicians. I as a beginner can easily be overwhelmed with all that it has to offer, For Free, I might add. Even the price for lifetime access to everything is very reasonable. With this, I will learn the guitar and play it well.

Cool video, many thanks for sharing. I bought the Palmer Tino to switch my amps, but I did not consider the fx loops to split modulation pedals. I wonder if I can do the contrary you did, I mean that the main signal will be managed by the Palmer Tino, and for the fx loops, I’d like to try with 2 double jacks: one to connect to the output of the last modulation pedal to both SEND fx loops, and one more double cable to connnect both RETURNS to the first modulation pedal. Do you guys think it could work??

Or you could put a stereo pedal after the distortion to split the signal and use stereo effects in and out of the two effects loops.

That is a beautiful color Les Paul. I have a couple questions for you. I have a 50w Plexi and a 50w Silver Jubilee handwired clone amps. Can I connect both these amps to my 4x12 cabinet and blend the sound together? How exactly would I wire that? Both my amps can do 4/8/16 ohms, and my cabinet does 4ohm mono, 16ohm mono, or 8ohm stereo. I'd like the tones to be blended. What about my effects? Would I put my pre-amp effects like overdrive and wah in front of the Plexi, and then all my other effects like reverd and delay in the FX loops of the Jubilee? Thanks!
@duchyofdrive2922
@duchyofdrive2922 2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks a lot. Still love the Les Paul. As for your questions: Unfortunately, the Ampete is only for switching between amps, not for blending. Maybe check out some videos about stereo setups. This might be even possible with your single cabinet when using it in stereo and having each amp driving one side.

Hi. If your amps have a pot where you can adjust the amount of effect in the signal, these are parallel effects loop. If not, it is most likely serial. With a parallel effects loop, you can try to adjust the effects level all the way up. This should cut the dry signal and make the loop more or less serial. But some amps still route some amount of dry signal even if the effects level is all the way up. Guess you will have to try without effects plugged in. If the amp is silent when having effects on full, it should work with this method.

Can you just use 1 stereo pedal that has 2 ins and 2 outs… and from the effects loop on each amp.. thus: *From fx loop 1 the send goes to input 1 of pedal. *From fx loop 2 the send goes to input 2 of the pedal. *From fx loop 1 the return goes to output 2 of pedal. *From fx loop 2 the return goes to output 1 of the pedal.

I have a Morley ABC Switcher pedal and have a question. How do I send output of my pedalboard that is connected to input of my amp to the pedal? Sorry to ask a dumb question but the inputs only allow one cable from each amp. I want to send pedalboard-> amp-> Morley switch pedal input A and then on amp 2 send output of pedalboard 2-> amp2 -> morley pedal input 2.
@jimwilliams746
@jimwilliams746 2 жыл бұрын
Very clever. The effects loop send breaks the signal when you switch between amps. Effectively you are sending you signal to the amp but you can't hear it because it never returns to the amp.

how about running 2 amps into 1 cabinet with attenuator in between ?
@warrenmooney9422

I would be careful with that. Not sure what cabinet you have but I would recommend that you stay away from that unless you have a 4x12 cab and the left and right speakers are wired completely independent from the each other. Anything short of that I would just use two cabinets.

Thank you for the video. I do have a question. In case a multi effect guitar processor has only 1 output which means I can't use 2 Amps if the Amps doesnt have an fxs loop (4 cable method). So can I get a "Y cable" to use that on my guitar Multi effect processor and its going to be connected from it to a (loop station) or whatever device that has R & L and thats going to split the signal to stereo, is that correct? Example: I will have the input from the multieffect unit sent to a loop station R & L (input) and have the amps coming out from the loopstation as stereo out R & L.

I just bought one of these with a Laney 4x12 cabinet for 350 euros.. an amazing deal. it's literally an amazing amp. I will eventually try it on my Marshall mode4 4x12 cab to see how it sounds with a different cab.. but as it is with the laney cab, it's a beautiful sounding amp. I can't compare it to a marshall because it has its own sound.

I would like to disagree, the VH100R doesn't represent classic Laney amps. It's because the VH100R is just a heavily modified JCM800. It's more Marshall than the JCM900.
