As an Arsenal fan, I'm only focused on them for this comment, but I've been saying for a few years now the officiating in the Premier League has become more and more suspect. Far too many Big games now, were seeing Red Cards, offsides and more importantly, incorrect decisions where VAR / PGMOL should have corrected the on-field decision. With Mike Dean it was always obvious that he would give most of the big calls against Arsenal and some of Michael Olivers decisions last week were ridiculous. Its clear Oliver should never Ref a Man City game again OR he should be monitored very closely. Another example that somehow was not really talked about was Arsenal at Southampton 2 years ago, Robert Jones could have given Arsenal 4 Penalties. Not only did he give none, VAR refused to look at any of the calls. One of them, he gave Saka a yellow for diving when the replay clearly showed it was a penalty. Bottom line is the inconsistency is horrendous but worse than that, it really is starting to look like some of these decisions might well be financially motivated and should be investigated.
