I love side chargers but honestly bca is junk. We have like five of em. My first one was a 20” 6.5 Grendel and was nothing but problems for awhile. Swap the bolt and gas key. My groups were 2’ at 200 yards. I gave up on it after while. My 7.5” 762x39 is a constant battle to keep running too which I kinda figured would be. I’m looking into building a Grendel but it won’t have a single bca part on it

Just as well you didn’t catch that bullet. I’d have gambled on the harder soda bottles being hard enough that the first one would have caught the round rather than deflecting it. Guess for the second test is the bullet disappears. Harder, rounded bottles. Ditto for third test. *was kinda right. A lawyer would definitely argue for that*. Oh well, I’ll just have to catch my own round. Grocery day is coming and 7up is on sale. Just got a Henry carbine in .44 mag. This looks like fun.

Just recently bought a 92fs, and just bought an 84bb today. For the same exact reasons you stated. I wanted to like the 92x and 80x so bad, and I’ll still get them eventually, but it just is not the same. In my opinion the 1911 grip angle only feels good on 1911s. All you need for the berettas is thinner grips, not a different grip angle. There’s just something about them that feels so right.

I understand subsonic ammo is fun cool and may actually have a purpose somewhere someday. But like you said suppressors just make shooting so much more fun. And many times at the range other shooters like seeing it hearing it and trying it. But shooting a round that is still full power and performance with reduced recoil and sound signature is the best if all worlds. Nice build. Like cheek riser And great camo job.

just an fyi..... since ARs have a free-floating firing pin, be extra cautious of single round CHAMBER-FEEDING with the bcg locked back and letting it slam home.... this raises the risk of inducing a slam-fire. Always try to load the round(s) into the mag and let the bcg strip the round out of the mag....this method slows the bcg from slamming forward and thus slows the forward momentum of the firing pin also.... *** if you've ever noticed when ejecting a live round, you'll usually see there's a slight strike on the primer.

I just bought a m77 Hawkeye in 257 Roberts. Factory throat allowed 2.8 something overall length with a Hornady 117 grain SST bullet. I had a local smith deepen the throat to 3.00” with same bullet. It wound up throated deeper than that at 3.150’with the 117 SST. I’m loading it to 3.1 inches and it allows about a 3 grain increase beyond book max using H4831sc. Speed is about 3000 FPS. Hornady Superformance ammunition using the 117 SST is advertised at 2974 FPS. It takes a 6 inch drop tube to load powder into case.

For what it's worth, the 7x57 and 257 Roberts were the only two M77's that usually lack in the accuracy department. These are the only two calibers that Ruger did NOT make the barrels themselves. They farmed them out and accuracy was very hit or miss. I have a 1978 M77 "Bob" myself. Lucky for me mine is minty. It will only do just under 1.5moa for five rounds with handloads.

Mine worked fine with weak 10mm loads but not full power loads (600+ Ft pounds of muzzle energy). To make mine work properly with full power loads I had to do a recoil spring and mag spring upgrade. If you run an optic you need to add a metal plate and upgraded hardware. With full power 10mm I’ve had failure to feed issues, and the mag was ejecting by itself. It’s been a common issue with these guns. Some people got good ones but most of them have issues and it’s very well documented. The only ones who deny and defend this are the fanboys who can’t be honest about their favorite brand. I also see a lot of people have had issues with the stock plastic red dot plates and stock hardware. Smith and Wesson knocked it out of the park in terms of ergonomics, it’s such a shame that the reliability in stock from doesn’t match when you aren’t using watered down 10mm. I love smith and own 4 soon to be 5 of their products, but they dropped a turd with this gun. I love mine too much to get rid of it, but even after I got it to work a lot better it just sits in the safe now lol.i bought a Gen 4 Glock 40 mos in 10mm to takeover its role.
@cherrycitygunsandammo101123 күн бұрын
I love this gun now, but without a doubt, it took me fixing some of the issues, like a metal plate for the red dot and a recoil spring and lots of break in.
