@MikesGourmetKitchen3 ай бұрын
Hi Tribalpeacock , wouldnt recommend using milk , alternatively you can make a bechamel with some butter, flour and then add some milk for consistency 😃

Hi Peter , it does tend to split when doing it this way , if you cook it on stove top it doesnt happen , but it doesnt have quite the garlic oil taste to it as if it was pan made 😃

hi there not really how we make a true durban indian Curry in our homes, but its a good effort and I am sure it tastes good I should point out you do want to use jerra seeds in your dry mix not fennel of course you could add a few to brase (fry ) too at the start of cooking but to start your curry you always use the king spices always and the one main is always jerra seeds 🙂and thats the only durban indian cooking secret tips I have for now 😊OHHHH PS For The Love Of The Food Gods Use A Pot! Chicken Curry is not a Curry if it has no sauce!!! otherwise its a chutney
@MikesGourmetKitchen3 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right Trixjazz , my family is Guji so there was a few slight differences to incorporate but it did turn out delicious , the pot i know is a bit of a let down im used to using my large casserole pots , but for the sake of filming so people can see inside a bit better we use the flat pan 😂 thanks for the tips , their much appreciated

Oh my Heavens!!! I'm South African, Indian. We make chicken curry once a week. This is NOT how we make it! It doesn't even look like this. Also, we NEVER make a curry in a frying pan.

Why did you add your eggs to that very warm mixture? It looks as if it had curdled. I've never witnessed anyone doing that before because all cooks advise one NOT to add eggs to a warm, or hot mixture. You should temper it first.
@MikesGourmetKitchen4 ай бұрын
Hi Gloriana 😃 we let the mixture cool down slightly to prevent the eggs from curdling , and ee try mix it in almost immediately to prevent poaching the egg , if it was very hot it would curdle straight away

Thanks im not sure if u from Cape town south Africa, thats where im from an heres its sooooooo cold with sooooo much heavy rain that i was looking for nice something different baked desserts ( in winter) i bake my usual ones which is cakes : , carrot, choc , vinalla , banana but i felt for something different ( baked) an i felt for something simple so i came across sago , its just a pity i never saw yours first , had i saw yours first i would try yours as yours got toooo little eggs so anyways i saw sago pudding and that person used 6egg and 1 tablespoon custard powder with 1litre milk ( so yours is only bit different from hers) nonetheless I did describe to her my bowls and i asked her do i use big bowl or small but she never bothered to get back to me so i used my small glass square pyrex dish/ tray/ bowl an i must say it rise well an it was yum , il definitely try yours out , i really don't know why some people just don't like to share their knowledge with others

@MikesGourmetKitchen5 ай бұрын
Hi @mehjabeenjable3632 you can use the 2 Liter Pyrex bowl they seem to be the standard size that we always use. You can refrigerate after bake if you prefer to eat it cold, but its normally best served hot 😀

A Bunny needs soft potatoes and a lot of gravy. Adding the meat and braise it for a few minutes in the spices before you add the tomatoes also make a difference to the flavour. I use jam tomatoes and remove the seeds. Seeds give it sour taste unless you add sugar.
