I was at Leicester and my son has come back with cold, so all the worse for him on top of a dire end to what was a good game up to 85th minute. Something away from the game that hasn’t been mentioned yet. We took up our entire allocation for a Sunday 2pm KO with engineering works going on the rail network. Yet another amazing turn out for an away day and we never stopped singing from the start of the game. Fair play to all that went on a very cold and wet day. Keeping the faith 👌🏼UTA 🔵⚪️

Jack’s spot on , when he said it’s in the Brighton DNA to lose to the relegation sides, this has been the case ever since the Goldstone era, couldn’t understand then, still can’t understand it now. Unfortunately it’s something that I have had to get used to, not happy about it, but also no longer surprised 🙃

Maz makes a great point at around 31 mins, the bar is set high early in the season with some good results , now expectations are high. Are the fans really disappointed at being 7th at the moment, in reality the fans should be happy the team are very much in the race for a European place 💙🤍💙🤍 UTA

FH is focused on out-of-possession shape, pressing, and work rate far more than Potter or De Zerbi ever were. His in-possession principles are less specific on a game-to-game basis, so I agree he has a lot of things to learn and that's one of them. I however would argue that his out-of-possession tactics are perfectly suited for the PL with the emphasis on running and winning physical duels. We can be an absolute menace to play no matter what the conditions are or if there's an underlying difference in technical quality. This stylistic decision effectively drags the game into a more fair fight when we play both better and worse teams. If FH can evolve his in-possession style and learn a bit of gamesmanship and game managment he easily cracks top 10 managers in the world status in the next few years. It's funny how we as non-coaches are telling the youngest-ever permanent PL manager all the things he doesn't understand. Just ironic that he's already further up the pole than 99% of managers with so much room to improve, but we who have no experience are confident we know what it is he is missing.

First Leicester goal came from an unlucky deflection, Ok i can take that. The second made me furious with Igor, just kick it out in the stands he had time. The worst thing is to cough the ball in our half.

Sure. Except he's not leading us to concede. I see where you're coming from, but we don't have a lot of Ferguson game time to judge from this season, and he's been impressive in the past.

He was anonymous yesterday, apart from passing to Mitoma (who was in a worse position) when he has the goal gaping for him to slot it away. Hope he comes good, seems like his confidence is gone

@chrish4199 That hurt to watch. I didn't look like Mitoma was expecting the pass either. I would have liked to see Mitoma put it in, but Ferguson should have taken the shot. He hasn't played enough and needs to regain confidence ig.

Oiled up Lamptey 👀 The young age of the manager (he's 31 in case you haven't heard it mention before lol) from a lower level league could be affecting the players more than we think - the collapse towards the end I feel like is partly due to the players' lack of confidence in the manager as well and/or no "fear/respect" towards him, i.e. draw or lose they may consciously or subconsciously feel they can sort of "get away with it" or blame it on him if you get my drift.
@legionssb4 күн бұрын
I kind of doubt they feel they can get away with losses just looking at the kinds of people the Brighton squad are, but there is definitely some issue. Focus is dropping regardless.

Interesting comments on FH, so because he is young how much Leeway does he get? He is manager of a premier league team the same as any of the other 19 so i dont get the age argument, or are we going to take time to develop him just for a big club to poach him?

Guys I was there yesterday Leicester did not fight back we gifted them two goals. The Leicester crowd started to leave at 2-0, you could see the Leicester players heads drop. They thought it was all over. Then a faff of a kick from Verbruggen when he had an easy option out to his right. The less said about the second the better. If that had happened in an under 10s match you would be disappointed with the player.
@honest12964 күн бұрын
2-0 u , 5 minutes to go and we are still trying to play cute out the back. New rule, kick the ball immediately up the pitch from our last third when 2-0 up 5 mins to go, play it bloody safe.

Marco Silva has taken a Scott Parker team who were really boring and hard to watch, to an attacking team who are so good to watch and with new players each season, Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson are going to create so much and with Iwobi and Traore causing havoc down the wings and across the pitch, the Cottage under lights is a tricky place to come, so a Fulham win 3-0 for me! See you there! COYWs!

‘A vintage Brighton performance’ it’s some thing we have all been used to for a while now. My take on the clubs coming to The Amex that languish in the bottom 3 is they see it as a great day out, against a better side at a decent ground. We should take it as a compliment, but of course so frustrating when we beat Utd so often and get wins against the likes of Spurs and City for the first time in a while. Still believe we can make Europe as City and Spurs are helping us right now. On safe standing. 5 years too late, and the away end should be moved to the South East corner. I have always moaned about why we treat the away fans to a great day. Lightning up the away end in their club colours 😳; making them fill at home?! Look at Villa and Leeds. We are treated terribly up there, right in the corner of the ground with their fans behind each goal. Both shit away ends, crap food and drink and vile abuse directed towards us. Worst fans I’ve ever met.😠

Wieffer wasn't great when he came on. His passing was poor and didn't seem to read the game well, often half a step behind. His situation is completely different from Baleba's surely. He was brought in as a starter wasn't he, not to develop over a season or two like a 19 year old. Now, that doesn't mean he's useless or never gonna be great, but hopefully he steps up asap.

When Brighton languished in the lower leagues and played clubs like Millwall, the atmosphere at the Goldstone was loud even though the capacity was small. Maybe what the Amex needs is what a local club provides. . . . A partisan derby. Like Rangers / Celtic, even Derby County / Nottingham Forest or, of course the two teams across Stanley Park in Liverpool. Saying a Brighton / Crystal Palace is a local derby between two enemies a little too weak.
@garyduncan703912 күн бұрын
So right abt the goldstone, the Amex seems to be so flat in majority of games, especially as we are in a time where we are flying.Imagine goldstone if we was 2nd in Premier. A lot of people looking at phones etc and a different type of fan base maybe.
@Eanakba13 күн бұрын
If you watch him, mitoma should have way more assists than he does, that's on the team around him. His crosses are insanely precise and his cutbacks are very consistently put into the same dangerous area, this is perhaps hyperbolic but it feels like our striker ghosts him every time. He would just need a better target man. Welbeck can't finish off the crosses at all. Ferguson is never in the right spot. He doesn't even make runs early enough to even be in the box half the time, you could see it this Friday. Pedro might have it in him but this has been a problem for at least 2 seasons now so I'm doubtful.
@legionssb12 күн бұрын
This is exactly what I think. With a striker to finish Mitoma's crosses, Brighton's attack would be incredible.
@legionssb12 күн бұрын
Welbeck's finishing has been really poor. I think Rutter and Pedro have the capacity to finish Mitoma's passes a bit better. It pains me to watch Mitoma trivela the ball across the defense only for Welbeck to miss wide.
@dacr892813 күн бұрын
I don't know the solution, but the drop off in creative distribution when you double sub Perdo and Georgino is staggering. Ferguson comes on fresh but is starved out by not having anyone to interlink with. Estupinan legs were gone by the end of the game being forced to constantly cross the ball in and track back to defend. I know Enciso's been banished to the fucking shadow realm but here's the thing he provides a goal threat from distance, drawing players out to him which gives Evan a channel to run into. Tough trying to pick out the best way to start and bring on fresh legs early. To be fair to JP I thought he did great for pushing out on the right, Felt like IGOR had a few good runs into space and good distribution. Ayari started the game off like a rabid dog in the best of ways, not sure why he toned it down or what changed in the first twenty mins it looked like he and o'riely were dominate in midfield at the start. but then again, Dibbling Is a god damn Menace to society tho, glue on his boots or witchcraft can't wait to see how he progresses. Points a point, the Lads have done amazing this season with a NEW manager and a bunch of new faces to try to work into the system. Very happy with the current standings and hope they all stay healthy.
