Was JGB The J Geils Band or Jerry Garcia Band? It's nice to see the younger generation so aware and knowledgeable of earlier great music.

Geraldine, thankyou for sharing your beautiful system with us all. 🙂 I'm especially impressed that you use the Heathkit as your preamp. I have the Heathkit Professional Tuner 1 or PT-1. It is a marvel of sensitivity when using the FM Tuner Section. The AM Tuner Section is narrow/wide bandwidth and makes AM Radio sound stellar! The PT-1 although mono would be an excellent addition to your system. If you can get one please have the caps replaced and also a tech go over the resisters. Both age faster because of the heat of the tubes. Their is nothing wrong with very high quality mono sound as you no doubt know. Again thankyou for sharing what you love and appreciate so much. Mary

I would be interested in how Geraldine got interested in, or was introduced to hi-fi. The hobby needs more younguns like her! And by the way, don't let people trash any of your choices in equipment. If they sound fantastic to YOU, then they sound fantastic! Enjoy!

👿🔱😈.. Macintosh Made a Tube amplifier 🤔.. well dang you learn something new everyday...lol.. why did you decide not to go quadraphonic ?... especially if you like vintage music... I've never seen that noise reduction unit that's pretty cool.. have you ever had a dynamic processor hooked up to your system ? Or a Reverb unit like the Sansui RA 500... And buy some 901s 😉.. You wont be living in that room for forever will u ?

How many channels do I have to say this on? Hush the F up with the I found cheap cds thing or they wont be cheap anymore. You're blowing it for us. Keep letting people think albums are the greatest thing ever. BTW the Souixie cds are a good catch...jealousy lol.Cheers anyway.

Impressed. I’m a septuagenarian and I’ve never been far from vacuum tubes, vinyl and tape. In my earlier years people would laugh and now they’re finally impressed.
@summersky77Ай бұрын
Anyone else here who don't use cassettes to listen to old 80s music? I put things on tape that I haven't heard over and over again for the last 40 years. There's so much you can do with tape and phenomenal music out there, who's got time to always be strolling down memory lane. Cassettes for me are portable analog hi-fi. I don't 'lo-fi' my music. Cassettes are more than capable of sounding spectacular.
@tudormiller887Ай бұрын
Apparently interest in cassette tapes are on the up due to Gen Z and the TV series Stranger Things.
@summersky77Ай бұрын
@@tudormiller887 That was ten years ago. I think the world has moved on since then and Gen Zs got into it for about a minute until they realized it wasn't a great sounding format, because nobody knew what they were doing and just playing off old stereotypes. That mini-fad has long passed. Cassettes will always be niche...and more fringe than vinyl.
