Wow! Sounds really good. How do you think the re-synth algo compares to Steinberg's? (Halion/Padshop 2)
@SimonStockhausen1967Күн бұрын
It very much depends on the source sample but overall the resynthesis in MYTH is up to par and often better, not necessarily for complex tonal textures or chords, neither for bells/metallic percussion. But in MYTH the options to transform the resynthesized material are vast and the FM sounds pretty fantastic.

there are 2 resynthesis method, this resynthesis method is added. the first resynthesis method is now called the classic resynthesis, which gave some discussion..... personally; i could and get still wild with the Classic Resynthesis method.... it is still great and unique.... the new Resynthesis method is also available as stereo, then each Iris loads a channel. (normally from a stereo file, the left channel is taken...)
@emptyvesselnz5 күн бұрын
@@exposada ah I'm glad the old algorithm is still present, I made some of the factory presets and I totally agree that it's unique and useful, just a little less predictable. Interesting video. I even like the V1 Resynthesis. With the right samples and some module mangling it can produce quite convincing results. V2 Resynthesis obviously plays in a tier of its own - it's far superior, needs to include the sample data in the patch file, though (V1 Resynthesis merely includes overtone envelopes, leading to much slimmer preset files). I enjoyed Myth from day 1.
@SimonStockhausen19676 күн бұрын
I found the v1 resynthesis terrible but with this update Myth has become a serious tool for music production and sound design.

so good, simon! you have such an ear. and i like how intentional you are when using these tools. not just some randomly clicking and blabbing around. how do you find metasynth’s resynth engine is holding up nowadays?
@SimonStockhausen196712 күн бұрын
Thank you. I don't use Metasynth much these days, technology has moved on, spectral resynthesis has evolved, one of Metasynth's outstanding feature is still the ability to play back the resynthesized data with samples or multisamples which I still find quite amazing, even if I already used that 15 years ago 😀
@gjb796611 күн бұрын
@@SimonStockhausen1967 i agree! one of my favorite features as well. what's your go-to for resynthesis currently?
audio morphing is something else, so any synthesizer that alters the sound with a filter or ring modulator would be called morphing!!! true audio morphing is passing from a very complicated sound such as the voice to a flute or a piano without the ear being able to understand from which point of the sound the passage occurs (they work in morphing on each single harmonic finding the formant of both the sounds as a reference) you are going back with technology!! 30 years ago there were already examples on the net!!

So you need to create many instances of the plugin to create a drum set?
@SimonStockhausen1967Ай бұрын
If you want the drums to use different models, yes. There is the option to assign sound variations to the inbuilt pads which are assigned to fixed MIDI pitches but these variations will all be derived from the same selected drum model.
