I remember sitting with my wife watching that live. When Martina finished, I looked at my wonderful wife and she had tears rolling down her cheeks. That rendition was indescribably beautiful.

She out sings Kate Smith on her best day. Still gets to me every time even though I don't think much of this nation any longer. I wish the pictures were more clear. Just in case you don't know, the timing objective is to have the fly-over jet start coming into view on the last note and not heard until just after the last note is sung. Precise time-over-target is a serious thing. To facilitate this in the fly-overs there is a fellow on site with a radio bringing the aircraft into their turn at just the right time. My son has coordinated many of these and he kept a score using the seconds and fractions of seconds as the measure of perfection. They often came close to essentially ZERO variance for the time-over-target.
