Another fabulous one. Perfect how you break a song down. Sometimes going back to basics, can be hard work and may put some people off, but not me! If a singing job is worth doing, it is worth doing well, and if hard work is needed then so be it, it doesn't bother me! PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! THANK YOU. My main goal is to offer tips on how to sing these amazing pieces.....and singing, for me, is a totally inclusive activity. On the flip side, I sing some of the soprano rep transposed down to make it more accessible for more voice types, and I'd be very happy for you to investigate some of those pieces with me. OH MY GOODNESS! I have sung this aria a few times but never been happy with it. I always felt there was something lacking, so I was looking for a video of it being sung "properly", and found your site! I realise now I have not been phrasing correctly in some parts, so I was immensely interested in your video. I kept pausing and trying to emulate the things you talked about - pronunciation etc, but when I sang it with you, it was the ICING ON THE CAKE! I truly feel I have just had a personal lesson with you. My thanks are absolutely meant and I have now subscribed. I class myself as a Crossover Lyric Soprano, though my main genres are top movie songs and songs by "the divas", and musical theatre (my first love). But I do sing some, what I describe as "light" opera, and I now feel that up until now I have missed out, and that I now feel you are my personal coach. YOU ARE FABULOUS IN YOUR APPROACH.

@singingtips12 күн бұрын
Hi. The original is G, going up to a top D. There are tracks in F on KZbin, but you'd need to check with the OP whether they'd be happy for you to use them publicly. Alternatively, you could get a custom made MP3 in a key of your choice. MP3 Accompanist is one you could look up. Also check your comp rules - sometimes they state that certain genres need to be in their original key. 😁🎶

So I didn't really know what perfect pitch is but I have it. I'm autistic and I read that autistic people are up to 500x more likely to have perfect pitch than neurotypicals. I used to play piano but I played almost everything by ear (and thought that was normal lol). I remember sitting at a friend's house and she was playing a song and I started playing along on the piano just based on what I heard. She was amazed and I was like "can't everyone do that?" No, apparently not. 😅 I want to buy myself another piano and get back into playing because it was so much fun. And now I have extra motivation to do so! This time I'll try to learn to read music as well. Thank you for the video!

Hi Lois. It was quite by chance I saw this video come up on youtube just as I was getting into adding Ave Maria into my performance repertoire. I have to say a big thankyou to you for the time and effort you put into dissecting every aspect of singing this song with good diction and breath control. I will never be a singer as gifted as Mario Lanza (whose highly emotive performance of Ave Maria is on youtube for posterity), but thanks to you, I can now put an even better effort into singing what are very simple verses of lyrics, but which need very careful mental consideration as to how to project the appropriate emotive impact into performing this song so that it moves the mind and soul of those listening to it as one surely intends. In my performance, I also play one whole verse through on the Harmonica between each sung verse. I find that the melancholy sound of the Harmonica really adds to the emotive impact it has upon my audiences. Have a great day !
@singingtips115 күн бұрын
Hi. I love the idea of playing a verse on the harmonica - it's an instrument I associate with homesickness and nostalgia....highly appropriate for setting the right mood for the evocative lyrics of the song. Thank you for sharing. 😁🎶
