Hello, Alex. That was very clear. I have three questions: 1) when is it time to switch to clean rags; 2) how should rags be cleaned?; and 3) are there any shortcuts to cleaning the insides of the windshield and rear window (which are so awkward to reach)?
@stellarfinish Жыл бұрын
Hi Cary, It’s time to get clean rags once you can’t get a streak free window anymore. Launder them in the washer separate to dirtier tags, with dedicated microfiber detergent, and dry on low heat. For the windshield, you just have to cram yourself in and use your arms to get down as much as you can. Rear windows are a pain, but sometimes using the back of your hand to move the towel can work too. The glass cleaning sticks are helpful too if you can find them. Attach a towel to them and they extend your reach.

Can i use the built in blower of a shop vac for drying the car?
@stellarfinish Жыл бұрын
I personally don’t recommend it as the grit that’s built up in the shop vac hose will blow back on the car, and can cause marks. Stick to a leaf blower or compressed air and you’ll be great!
@Yezzen Жыл бұрын
@@stellarfinish Thank you. surely buy a leaf blower cause i cant stand the annoying sound of compressor.

Hello. I’m a Detailer and own my own business that was started by my father in 1987. Beautiful work here. Just curious if you could give me a ballpark figure on the cost of your shop and accessories if you wouldn’t mind. Great job. If you wanted to message me off the comment section, that would be great I’m not too familiar how we go about doing that. Maybe I’ll see if you have a Facebook page and I’ll message you there. Thank you, Josh

Where the water go tho?
@stellarfinish2 жыл бұрын
If you’re asking where the water form the pressure washer drains, we do our washing outside the shop, not inside. There are California drains at the door entrance for the wash water to drain into outside.

Most karchers are roughly around 1.3-1.5gpm. Not that much difference in flow comparing 2.0gpm. I think karcher flow would actually be slightly higher if you adjusted and lowered psi so might be somewhere around 1.5-1.7? Nice shop btw 👍

new sub! Just a question... as far as i can tell, you use the same hose to vacuum and blow the car dry? Arent you afraid to blow dust all over the car??
@stellarfinish3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. It appears that way, yes, but we actually hook up another hose to the blower so that we don’t have to have a huge reel or hose hanging on the wall. It’s stored in another location for space. You are correct when it comes to the vacuum, it would blow debris back out.

where is the hose that you use for the master blaster? it looks like you hook it into the same vacuum reel that is used for the vacuum? isnt the vacuum hose filthy?
@stellarfinish3 жыл бұрын
We have the hose for the master blaster in another spot, as we don’t use it every day, so it’s stored separately. The vacuum is on its own hose as it is dirty and would spit back dirt if forced with air the other way.

What are the walls finished with? Traditional dry wall or another material? Looking for something that is easy to clean when need be. Great looking shop!
@stellarfinish3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I went with G1S 1/2”plywood for a smooth finish, did some basic patching, and then primed with oil paint, then latex with a low-semi gloss white which is very scrubbable, and easy to clean. All seams were caulked for appearances; I wasn’t going for perfection, rather function. Plywood is way cheaper in the long run with regards to finishing cost, and means you have the ability to hang most things wherever you want, and if you hit it, it doesn’t chip or dent easy, unlike drywall.
@craigsnider99853 жыл бұрын
@@stellarfinish Certainly understand that. Did a great job at finishing it out, honestly would have never guessed that’s what you used just looking at it. Cheap, functional, and good looking! Can’t ask for much more!

Can you apply a wax once dry. Also can this method be replaced with a speed detail?
@stellarfinish3 жыл бұрын
You can most definitely apply a wax after this. Just make sure any residual streaks or residue from anything is removed with a surface prep spray, like CarPro Eraser for example, and you’re good to go. Speed Detailers are meant for very minor spots like finger prints or smudges, not grit or dirt. This is more like a wash than a quick detail. However, you can mix ONR in a higher concentration and use a a speed Detailer.
