Tried greenback but it has hum..greennack does not give a real vox sound...greenbcak cone is a bit soft and it is noisy comapared to stock Vx-10 is more appropriate..

Nice video. I've got new valves in the post and will see which set sound best. After that, I think that the open back mod (on YT), will make more difference than replacing the speaker. I'll use the existing back and put a hinged opening at its base. The speaker is the last thing I'd try 'cos I like the stock Vox ones - I think they just sound boxy, fully enclosed. If I do try another speaker, I'll certainly try the GB.

Was there any break in on the greenback. New speakers "wake up" with about 20 hours of playing on them.

The Fishman renders a more complex harmonic rendering. The midrange seems richer (I don't mean fuller). It's probably why vocals seem better rendered on it.

Nice video!!! just like the prs one, with diferent configuration on the pickup selection. Only one question... with this switch are you able to make 5 different positions with two humbuckers? for example... position 1: bridge humbucker, position 2: outer coils split in pararell, position 3: both humbuckers in pararel, position 4: inter coils split in pararell, position 5: neck humbucker. I hope i get an answer, even so really cool video man thanks again.

I have not found the Fishman to be lacking in volume, and the tone is much fuller and richer. I have great confidence when performing with the Fishman. Never had that with the Fender

Can you explain the difference if I want to install a rotary into a traditional Strat layout with one volume and two tone pots?

Please note that all pots should be grounded. This was missed on the diagram, which is my mistake.

Where are the grounds from the pickups going ? could you show an example for the grounding on this setup
@raddytv42164 ай бұрын
Typically they would each go to their respective volume pot
@rodrigo3293 ай бұрын
You are completely correct. I ignored the grounds to keep the diagram simple, but @raddytv4216 is right, all pots should be grounded. The third lug on each pot should be grounded. I would also ground the chassis of the rotary switch.

Too bad the Line Out on the Fender is an XLR, since in most cases, I'd prefer a 1/4 inch since the other end would go into a DI Box, although I do have a PRO CO cable that has one of each on either end of its cable. I have a Crate Acoustic Amp, 30w, for a long time, but now is starting to act up on me. It was two distinct inputs, one clean, and one with FX, and a 1/4 in Line Out.

I bought a Cream AC10 with a stock speaker and a Black one that came with a Creamback and JJ Tubes. Never have been fond of the tone of JJ's. TBit, the Cream AC10 with the stock speaker sounds warm, yet articulate. The Black AC10 just sounds too bright for my taste. I've compared them at home and at gigs. Anyway, I bought a used Vox VX10 stock speaker and will be changing out the Creamback.

IC amps can be very sensitive to any output short circuits. I have accidentally ruined a few just because I was too rushed to test a repair and simply got sloppy with clips attached to speaker leads. At least they’re cheap and readily available

Hello I have a crate gx-212c it doesn't have pots like this, but I can't figure out why it cuts in and out, and then the level knob makes it shoot to max volume if barely touched, and the dirty channel will get the volume right but won't have any of the crunch. Could I email you a video of my issue?
@peepkindoesstuff40666 ай бұрын
I’m guessing between very dirty pots or a soldering issue on the pcb. I had this happen before and the best thing to do is resolder the points on the pot and then clean it with some contact cleaner. If none of those work, find an amp with similar pots and replace them since crate doesn’t make those pots anymore

No other acoustic amp sounds better than a Fishman. I have the Fishman Mini, and I use it at home and on stage for solos and as a monitor and it's natural acoustic qualities are top tier. No other amp even comes close.

I have to agree with what others have said. The main issue is the Pixco speed booster, which I am getting for my Takumar lenses, but more to shoot wide open or close to wide open. I find when I use this lens on a normal adaptor I don't have any of these issues, and that it is quite sharp across the frame.

I heard a rich, warm, full sound with the Acoustic. The Fishman sounded as if you were playing inside of a large tin can - hollow and empty sounding. My vote is obvious.

My big question is how do each of them do when the volume is turned up beyond 9 o'clock? At that setting neither unit is being pushed very hard. I play a Martin TK1 ukulele with a LR Boggs 5.0 pickup. I play with-out a pick. My Fender Acoustisonic 40 has the clearest tone I've found using 10, 12 and 2 o'clock on bass, mid, treble. But I need more through-put and the Fender starts sounding muddy before I get to 12 o'clock on volume. Wasn't enough to do a driveway gig in our neighborhood. I'm all in on a Fishman if the tone is as clear and if I can ramp up the overall volume without getting muddy. How does the tone sound with the volume at 12 o'clock or more? Any comments?

Good tip about the small size of the holes. I wired mine up and couldn’t get it to produce any output on any of the pickups. I think my mistake was letting some wires share a contact when connecting them to the freeway switch. For example, the nodes on the switch labeled NH, B, MH, and BT. You’re saying the wires AND the soldering material between the two holes cannot touch?? If so, my next step will be to remove all the wires, heat and remove the soldering material from the contacts, get out my magnifying glass, and start again lol
