i might be wrong but this is the only video i saw that has slain Velk using a Normal Shelling gunlance. its usually Wide because its just difficult to land a burst.

Normally its just straight slaplance. Its much easier and powerful than shelling in endgame, sadly.

as i remember, you can use normal shield defense to make any quick turn

If you powerguard and get hit, you can power thrust in any direction with circle and the control stick

This is still undefeated 3 years later. We managed to achieve faster time by playing "Lancer style" with Offensive Guard, meanwhile this actual Lancer shows us how to stick to our GUNCE. The role reversal is too good. Love the stylish "counter thrust wyrmstake blast" btw, and you're still a mad lad for figuring out how to full burst that thing. Would love to see your take on the "Lancer style" if you're up for it, Lancer doing "Lancer style" on a Gunlance sounds like all kinds of fun.

You can either get armor or use decorations that give you speed sharpening( max up to lvl 3). Or you can use Great Whetfish fin+( there is an event quest in master rank you can use to farm them easily)

aside from the one commenting about the skill, our guy here used a Whetfish Fin+ for a faster sharpen. he basically didnt use any skill, just whetfish

I remember watching this run when you first posted it, still puts a smile on my face two years later. Seeing such high level, flawless Lance gameplay is such a treat. Hoping to see you in Wilds, or even in World with the new surge in popularity. You, Alex and KCGemini made lance become my favorite weapon in them game.

Late to the MH party... Been vibing with the lance to help my HBG user keep some distance. Came from another video you had commented on. A video that I had heavily disagreed with from my simple sub 100 hunts with the Lance. So I came to watch you, and confirmed that I'm on the right path. There's something about these larger named streamers across gaming as a whole that continually seem to kinda actually suck at playing the game. Like noticing when certain habits that habitual gamers do to save time / prevent bugs, aren't done. Like the videos are being put out for the sake of content, or even wrong to provoke more attention. It does take time to produce, and that's time not spent gaming after all. It puts a lot of doubt in my mind that I am not doing X 'meta' because someone with subs said. I still can't understand how it's wrong to be the last one alive, and still attacking. Anyways... Thank you for showing me the right way to play, without the gimmicks / tricks and bombs. Just pure lancin at .5x speed (.25 audio was unbearable). Why would we ever sheath, dodge, or run away when we can just put up this thing called a shield, and then smack them back. I wish the more skilled players made content, but then... they're probably busy getting better.

if you power guard and then input direction + circle, the poke will be directed to where you input your direction even if its 180°
