True! Mind you when I stamp on them it's pretty loud, the whole piano acts as a drum.

Your previous video centered around MF-102 was so much fun that it made me want to get one for myself. Which I did, exactly a week ago. And here you are again, making a new video about this crazy box, nine years after the previous one. How did you know?? But seriously, your videos are a huge inspiration, and that particular one helped a lot with taming the moogerfooger beast. I also came to understand my murf so much better because of your tips. Thank you so much Kjartan!

Many thanks for your kind feedback, I'm glad my vids have given you some fun! The depth and clarity of the Moog RM tones never cease to amaze me!
@danilalikhachev341Ай бұрын
@@murderousmaths Indeed, clarity is probably the most surprising side of it for me. I was using it with a bass guitar, which is arguably a much more complex and "dirty" sound source than a pure Herz oscillator would be, and yet the bell effects are ice-clear and chime-y, pure joy for the ears. Also, the widespread reputation of ringmods online as of them being some weird sonic destruction tools for noise artists has turned out to be so very narrow. They are capable of being less-then-consonant, but so is any piano, if one plays dissonant keys. But just like a "proper" standalone musical instrument, one can produce a huge pallete of very musical sounds with this box, they are just waiting to be found and mastered
@joshbarnes293Ай бұрын
Thank you! Some wild sounds here thanks for demoing the ring mod you built too it is a lovely device. I suspect there is some "no input mixer" aspect to its randomness. (Maybe i'm the 11th person to get to the end of the vid :))

The game/puzzle of The Tower of Hanoi has a story attached to it. The legend is about a Hindu tower (Brahma) with three large vertical golden needles and 64 gold discs. If a disc is moved each second, it would take 5.85 quadrillion years to finish. Longer than the age of the universe. I retired at the age of 64 but the universe is still going strong. 😉

Following the ancient history of the indian subcontinent, I hereby declare myself as the “Eklavya” of You, sire “Drona”, eklavya hadn’t the privilege to go to Drona to learn the ancient method of warfare, yet by listening and observing his Sensei, he became the most deadliest Pupil of Drona, which he wasn’t aware of, even the great “Arjuna” whom Drona taught all his might, Eklavya just was on a cosmic scale which Arjuna couldn’t even comprehend and destroyed and demolished him!, Sadly, Drona, asked Eklavya to sacrifice his both eyes as the sacrifice for his master, without a second of doubt Eklavya gauged out his both eyes and gave em to Drona, his sensei, that’s how Arjuna became the greatest Archer! ❤❤❤❤ Love you.

I'm so lucky! It's the room I've always wanted since I was about 10 years old and first got to play on a Wurlitzer organ.
I just got my own recently many many years late, and I love it! Nice to see so much enthusiasm still for this wonderful synth.

Thank you for this video, it's a really neat approximation for a pentagon. I have not seen a pentagon folded from a square this way before. Is this your design? With just a few more folds, it makes a really nice 5 pointed star, and the long point at the back makes a convenient stand.

@murderousmaths Жыл бұрын
Well spotted! It's a QY100 which these days I mainly use to drop in a few tasty drum and perc samples. About 30 years ago I had a little QY20 and the drums on that were heard on my tv themes, but the screen failed so sadly it just gathers dust now!

To answer your question as to what the three control buttons do on the in the later models. (I've got a Korg/Arp Odyssey.) First off, they're not actually buttons, but pressure switches/pads, that act as springed potentiometers the harder you push. The one to the left bends the pitch down, the one the right bends the pitch up, and the one in the middle is for vibrato. (And boy, they're hard to push on mine!)
