Great turn out! Are you using a bag with cat litter for #2's in the bucket? I'm researching now as I'll be needing a dry toilet option in a few months. From what I've found, if you use a drying component like litter, wood shavings, sawdust or pellets in the bottom then covering solids when done, you can get a 2-3 days with no smell before tossing the bag even without a vent fan. The detergent bottle is a great idea!! I'd suggest getting a second one so you never get caught with overflow between dumps. Thanks for the video:)

This was a great video! Thank you! You remind me of me and my projects! I think if you cut the stencil out it would have helped. Also, if you flip over the tile you can draw the stencil on the paper side and can see the lines better❤

Specifically manufacturers like Armstrong say that you should not apply peel and stick tiles to any sort of particle board (which is what she has on her floor).

It's nice to see someone that adds a bit of reality to the troubles encountered in DIY stuff. You should be proud of the results, Thanks for showing all. If you are still concerned about not having a larger reservoir for the urine you can empty the smaller unit manually into the larger bottle that you can store behind. For a small amount of effort, you gain a larger capacity plus you get a visual of your capacity every time you use it. No chance of overfilling. Stay true and keep positive.

Looks great.. I see it’s been a while and was curious if the glue held up through the summer and winter temperatures?
@TheDiariesofDevin2 жыл бұрын
Well I no longer have the rv, but it did hold up through one full summer and winter. I had some issues in the bathroom, but thats because of the subfloor I tried to fix under the vinyl. I would definitely try to find a way to weigh it down if you go this route, that will make it easier.

Started to put down some vinyl tile in a storage compartment and they did not stick. I used a hairdryer and a heating pad with a heavy book and they kept curling at the sides. I need the name of a product I can trust.

I finished my toilet 3 weeks ago and it is fantastic another thing I thought of is u take a bottom half of a real toilet use that of a night stand. Also onine since I'm using only a 5 gal bucket I have a bucket lid with a handle that seals the stink in pine pellets cat litter pinesol will keep stink down just throw the bag out couldn't be easier but your design is great beats spending a 1000 dollar.
@MrTubeman1234562 жыл бұрын
Most people don't have the space but u could make 2 haves one side 1 other side number 2 I built a toilet out of a bed frame I found in the trash only with one bucket for 1 & 2 I'll have a 5 gal urinal diverter and cranks not needed
@michele2017promastertravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi there wondering how your diverter is working out now that you've had a chance to use it for a while. I tried a similar set up and found urine misses the collector some of the time. wondering how yours does?

A tip or question to this old video is for the top part, I would spackling mud, or maybe use cocking for the cracks or seams so the floor is even.

That's what you needed to do was make your toilet taller if you're not a short person I'm making my own for real cheap but I think my idea of using a reg porcelain bowl is genius but I haven't built one so but I like your video I think I responded already but good luck with your own build
@MrTubeman1234562 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying anything bad about your build but I i think I have a good idea for a toilet you get a reg bowl from homedepot 39 dollars you put a fan where tank goes to ventilate then use a bowl inside and bag u do #1 and 2 then seal up bag and dispose of or use diverter and short enough bucket.
@MrTubeman1234562 жыл бұрын
You could have the cap on cut a hole it then you could see when it was full and prevent spills or find clear container but I give u lot of credit if u had when to engineering school it would have been easier. But good job cudos to u.

Propane leaks are a biggie. We are taking ours to an RV repair guy. You definitely want that done professionally. The rig is salvageable for someone that knows what they are doing. I read a lot of what to look for on old motorhomes. I know there is some floor water damage and one of the walls is damaged. Previous owner had the roof replaced so that’s pretty much brand new. It’s unfortunate when people aren’t upfront about what’s wrong with RV’s when someone buys from them.
@UnKnown-zy1km2 жыл бұрын
This has been 9 months ago so you may have this all figured out by now but you could run the urine hose under your RV into a small 5 or 10 gal tank or into your gray tank. Then you wouldn't need to dump your urine bottle everyday. Plus urine can be poured on the dirt, grass, on trees just add a little water to the urine to keep the urine acids from being to strong for the plants. This is good fertilizer for the plants. Also urine is sterile nothing in it is harmful to our environment or us humans. So dumping just the urine is pretty easy and safe. I wouldn't dump it in the middle of Walmart parking lot but in the city/counties across the USA there are water grates for flooding in parking lots and on the side of the roads where you can dump gray water or urine tank. Urine tanks can be poured urine just about anywhere with in reason dirt, grass, woods, things like that is fine or just dump the tank into any toilet. Dumping a urine tank won't be a problem. You will find using a urine tank or your gray tank under you RV is a lot more convenient then a little pee jug. Best Wishes Ps you did a Great job on building the toilet it looks really good and I like that its not big and bulky like a lot of diy compost toilets most are a big bulky box your is nice and sleek to looks more like a regular toilet. Great Job 👍 👍

This is exactly what I needed to see! I was remodeling our Class C this summer and was almost done when I reached the over cab part and found the dreaded water damage. Had to gut the whole area. :( We have a bit of metal framing around the window, which is great, but I wasted an entire day trying to figure out how to get walls back up and secured well. Your tips here give me hope for the spring (we hit winter and I can't do any more reno until snow is gone). Thanks much!
