Did my first pour a couple of days ago. Did some cutting board art , and was too light on the pigment. There's like barely any color to it lol

This is exactly what I needed, props to you. Yes, it does need a ton of work to be a full “Woodworking Bible”, but Woody Hyezmar’s book is still in draft status and available for anyone interested in go’ogling the latest edition.
@BernardSharp-mb5gs6 күн бұрын
I heard he held out on publishing it, so you might want to go’ogle and grab Hyezmar's Woodworking Bible. Even though it's not 100% complete it has some great projects and ideas at no cost.

For the table at 1:30 in the video is there a reason you didn’t want to use the universal mounting plates method? What was different about those legs / base that made you guys build it with a custom plate instead?

Furthermore - is there a reason or issue with making it flush for that table?

Great video. Where do you order your inserts and screws? What depth (%) of wood thickness do you seat them?
@jeffmackdesigns8 күн бұрын
We order them wholesale, and have them available on our site. For installing them we drill just over their length and add smaller clearance holes for the bolts. They end up seated flush to the surface or just below a 1/16th!

Clear and pure white will yellow over time. I have seen some really nice tables with a beach theme but you can see the color layers. I also like some tables that mix different colors. I also like Cam from BWS, if you know you know, insets the table legs into the table and gives a more upscale feel.
@jeffmackdesigns11 күн бұрын
Its a very nice touch to adding table legs for sure! Thanks for the comment
@samuelshamston827513 күн бұрын
Why not clear? Unless clouding or air bubbles would be an issue. I think the black detracts from the beauty of the wood. I would like to be able to see the fusion of epoxy and the wood as well.
@jeffmackdesigns11 күн бұрын
Clear can be done nicely, but it has a handful of challenges that come with it! Clarity, yellowing over time, and mounting legs to be invisible from the top are some to name.

I want to put crushed glass on a table top that has resin on it do I sand the resin on the table or can I just go ahead with it also do I put the glass down and pour the resin over it or do I need to put a small layer and put the glass down and then pour over the top to seal it in
@jeffmackdesigns14 күн бұрын
Sounds like your best bet is to scuff the exisiting epoxy surface, apply a very thin layer ( like a flood coat) and lay down your crushed glass, let it cure and then do a final top pour!

What are your tips for someone that is starting? What is up front investment? Thanks!
@jeffmackdesigns19 күн бұрын
Most of our videos cover all kinds of tips and tricks for beginners to learn and get started with woodworking and epoxy. An up front investment will always depend on what you're looking to achieve. You could start with little projects or jump all in and buy machinery, large slabs and gallons of epoxy (which we don't recommend). Best of luck!

Small little project literally an inch on the bottom of a dresser drawer. I did it in my bedroom…. I have carpet in my bedroom. I put the container I mixed it in down. And it dripped all down the edge. And now I have epoxy in my carpet…. It’s a brand new house build like 4 months old…… and I’m renting 😳😭

@dominicdevito6189Ай бұрын
Do you need to route through the whole slab or could you route halfway and then fill that cavity with epoxy?

I'm no expert, but I don't know how the LED would work if not all the way through.
@jeffmackdesigns25 күн бұрын
You could get away with that, but you would then need to figure out how to engrave a channel for the LED's and submerge them in epoxy which isn't ideal!
