This song will always remind me of my uncle Jack. He struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, and after 1 week out of a rehab program and staying clean and sober, he got into a car accident and was killed by a drunk driver. Definitely a very strange world we live in.

1968 saw me in the Philippines doing my 4 year military duty as a radio operator. I was not aware of much music, movies, or anything from back home. I worked a shift called 3,3,3 and 72 hours off. Essentially, 9 days on and 72 hours off. Back home in Houston in 1969 I could resume my passion for music and I liked this one hit wonder very much. I was also introduced to one of my all time favorite bands, CCR. I you don't know what the initials stand for, I feel sorry for you. I am now 78 and not terribly happy about it but it I is what it is. ✌ Peace everyone!

@@markmccammon266 The Navy rating for Cryptologic Technician. They (usually) worked the same schedule regardless of duty station - 2 mid watches followed by 2 eve watches followed by 2 day watches then 3 days off. Also there were a couple of Naval Security Group units in the PI at the time. From your comment it sounded so familiar I thought you may have been one.
