I queried JZ twice. This is helpful, now I won't do it again. My fear is that I didn't do it the right way. Can't find a manager yet. Very disheartening. Plus, I did place in about 10 competitions and won some awards, so a whole bunch of random people thought it was good. Sadly you just have to make the right connection, that one right connection. This is the reality. Not giving up yet. Best luck to all.

"American History X" is one of the greatest films of all time. A timeless masterpiece. Edward Norton should have won the Oscar that year. Thank you for this.

He is well spoken and sounds decent. One would never suspect, just like Bill Crosby. Why not get with another gay man to be with as your lover, why would you rape a heterosexual man? Who gives you the right to do what you did. And 12 years is not a just sentence and in a male prison. He needs to be in a prison for tough women, otherwise he is just going to Disneyland!! He was a good actor, he hid the monster that he really was!! i hope others will be brave enough to come forward so that he never gets out of prison. He has to pay for all his crimes!!!

The only way to actually have your script looked at is to look at it like a project and begin to develop it yourself. Take what you have, which might be a trailer, and get to AFM and meet independent producer who need original content.

Great show. The guests really brought it. A lot of good information here. Kevin, you made the open invitation for us to leave comments on what we would like to see on the show. I think most writers on reddit or on the various forums like Done Deal seem obsessed with the topic of getting representation; keeping a good relationship with representation and how to launch their career. Even the repped writers I know seem to have a lot of false stars and have to restart the search many times. I think most of the viewers probably were drawn to your site by a random google search for the topic that led them here. Or another commenter who recommended they check out your interviews. Why not double down on that? Listeners most want to hear from reps, but more specifically "Managers." Maybe, have a webinar with intensive focus on the subject Label it "Superstar Managers." If there's a time constraint, I would probably take out the section on what the reps like in their personal life--while it's interesting, it sometimes takes 5-10 minutes of valuable time away from questions listeners really want to hear. Also, listeners do not mind seeing the same managers multiple times. In fact, they kind of become like rock stars with each successive appearance. Kind of like certain guests appear on the Tonight Show often, they become a brand. So, in other words, "managers, managers, managers."

I just recently discovered this great channel. What a great interview! Very informative. I've always looked at screenplays as instructions disguised with poetry. In practical terms a screenplay is basically a long, step by step set of instructions for others to follow, but we try to cloak these instructions with poetic writing.
