Personally, I think they needed to make the sequel like this, he kills many people all across the country and all those people in the hospital. And he just thinks that he won’t die from someone taking revenge? It proves that you can’t run from your mistakes and that karma comes to bite you in the ass. Personally what I think is that the story is trying to tell you is that you can never run from you mistakes, but also what I think it’s trying to tell you is revenge, and violence is never an option. Because the cycle just continues, and it’ll never stop, so it’s best to let things go, like yeah it’s fucked up what she did, no doubt about that. But the point is Abby shouldn’t have gotten revenge cus it creates a cycle of killing each other. And that’s the same for Ellie.

I imagine it could have Tommy chasing Abby still regardless of Ellie’s wishes and him disagreeing with her choice, or him changing and losing his way in various scenarios, as well as drama with his wife and Ellie in general, and many flashbacks with his time with Joel, during the first outbreak, after he and Joel split up for a while, and after Joel and Ellie returned after the first game. There’s a lot there potentially, though it may need just one strong narrative point that ties it altogether to make it happen. A new group, new infected or something to that effect. As well as a theme. Not sure which theme that would be compared to parental love and revenge in the first two games

as a huge fan of LOU i was thinking should i get LOU2 but then when i heard about joel death i was like nah i changed my mind but even then watching this has made me surprise and amazed how much work and effort they put its crazy. I really love Last Of Us i am still playing the game till this day :)

Watching this, I cried about Joel all over again. They did such a great job with this series, and even though I understand Abby. I still don't know how she could have Joel save her, and not feel guilty about killing him. But then, I also get it. Revenge clouds minds, the fight between the girls....was just as hard for me.

No game has ever made me think about morality like this game has. I've played through both games at least 3 times over, and cried every time lol

True story…I remember being so hyped to play this game. Pre-ordered it in a heartbeat. Once it came out I started playing and as soon as I saw Joel get hurt. I seriously cried and closed the game. I deleted the game completely. I couldn’t believe I had waited for this game to come out for him to die quickly like that. Not until December 2024, I finally decided to go back and finally finish it. Naughty dog only you can make me feel so attached to a game like that. Such a hurtful and beautiful game.

That scene really gets to me, because Ellie is so close to Joel and Tommy, seeing Joel go out this way, it's terrifying and yet the emotion I felt as a gamer, it def puts a spark in you to go to another level to make them pay. In so it focuses you , and drives the player to bigger heights to get revenge . In a lot of ways it's sad, In other ways it propelled the game , must of been a huge decision to call it. Hope part 3 comes along, as it will justify all the loss , but seeing a now calmer future for ellie , through her struggles, some where there's a story to part 3 right there and bring to justice those who spread the virus and if there still living at that point.

I only bought a ps5 2 months ago and I got the last of us part 1+2 with it...plus ghost of tsushima and spiderman and days gone....I only completed the last of us part 1 2 days ago and that evening I started part 2 and I sware when Joel's death happened my mouth fell open and I was in complete shock and when you take over ellie I was out for pure fucking revenge just like her....these 2 games are absolutely masterpieces in storytelling...I really hope a part 3 will emerge at some point over the next few years.

Ellie on the other hand died and his immune will cures all the infected, the DLC you will play as tommy scenario pov..

Doesnt matter how good the acting was. It was a moment that shouldnt have happened the way it happened. Joel was literally, prior to Ellie, one of the people that would track, trap, rob and kill people to survive. For him (and his brother, who was with him for years prior to Ellie) to give away who he is, instantly, to people that shouldnt have been where they were, geared up like they were.. is the single most out of character thing any person living in that world would have done. Did he need to die for the game to make sense? Yes. Did we have to use shit writing and an unbelievable scenario to make it happen? No.
