Cool boat, but no one should pay that much for a bass boat. Just picked up my 21 foot Skeeter boat fxr 21 listed at 74K.

I'm sure it would have been wise to do that, but I wasn't even sure that it could be done. However, I will say I couldn't tell a difference in clarity from before the break to after. If you have enough EMI in/around your boat to absorb through that 2" piece of unshielded wire, you've got bigger problems than a cut cable.

I recommend the shimano scorpion travel rod brand. It is also a 5 piece rod as well. When it is connected, the power and action are the same as casting 1 piece.

difference between this one and the nrx plus dsr 822? I want a drop shot rod but the shaky head seems so tempting too love the bottom fishing

If you’re torn, go with the 822syr. It had a slight bit more backbone, but can still be used for drop shots.

@@InfamousKiddXD there isn’t a ton of difference between them at all. If you were blind folded and I handed you both of them, you wouldn’t know the difference. My favorite reel that Shimano makes is the Exsence, but in the price range you mentioned, vanford all day.

I believe they are spacers to fix issues you have with line not spooling evenly on the reel. Do not quote me on that.

How would my 894c work as a hollow-bellied frog rod? (a retirement gift:) I need to learn to catch bass with hollow frogs. I'm walking distance from a muddy-bottom pond; I know it's got frogs and bass.

I’d throw it on there, but I enjoy more backbone for my frogs, so I use a Poison Adrena 176 xh for frogs. The rod you have would work for sure, though.

I'm a retired teacher. It's out of my price range too but it's still top of the line and will find a niche. It takes a lot of engineering and design for this level of complexity and convenience. I appreciate that and understand the cost. Most don't. The build quality is exceptional. Thanks. I'll have to get by with my 02 Champion.

To the guys complaining about price.... yes it's pricey but it's not much different price wise than Bass Cat, Vexus etc. It does have unique features that no other boats have. It also appears to have top notch build quality and design. There are boat brands that cover everyone's budgets. A loaded up Nitro is still over $70K. On a side note.... Chris Malone is the man! I bought a 2024 Phoenix from Malones last September. He was very easy to deal with and I highly recommend working with Chris.

Looks like you had a good trip. We went on the bed fishing tour last year and it really sucked, my back hated it. We are going back next week for another attempt as we were there a few weeks ago after walleye, did pretty good but the weather pulled us off the water early both days.

3 inch purple, red, or dark green grubs with gold flecks on bright yellow or orange jigs work well in the Snake River in Idaho near where I live now. I've give with fire tiger spinnerbaits in some of the muddier lakes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

I was unsure if you can use the flush port or not for running the engine out of water. People seem to have different opinions and it isn't my boat, so I didn't want to chance it. I have read that the flush port does not supply water to the impeller and can cause damage. Idk, though.

the owners manual says to turn off the motor when using that port flush. do not run without muffs.

It's hard to believe that a fisherman like you will actually condone fishing in a bucket. You saying you don't care what that people say bad things to you about patronizing a paylake. But I am guess that's typical of bougie bass fisherman, I guess. You obviously don't value catfish at all. I bet if commercial fisherman were raping public waters and selling trophy bass under the table to greedy profiteers like these trophy catfish lakes, you'd have a problem with it! You should see how these fish are treated. Those fish come out of the waters of paylakes all ate up with sores all over their bodies. They are starved to the Pint where a fish that should weigh 50 lbs in the wild, weigh 18 or 20 lbs. That would be like catching 5 and 10 lb bass coming out of the water and only weighing 2 lbs. But I guess it's people like you that perpetuate these greedy environmental rapists. Horrible video!

Where I like to go on Dewy Lake is Towards the Buffalo Creek area near German Bridge and Big Branch. I have caught a 9.74lb largemouth out of Dewy on a topwater popping in 2009. I have also caught a 4lb smallmouth around Dicks Creek in 2019 on a Rage craw. Baits I have a ton luck with at Dewy are 6xd, 1/2 oz jackhammer, 3/4oz and 1/2 football jig, popping frog, senko, dt6, and 3.25 size swimbaits.

Since you’re well versed in the costs of boat building and can keep the costs below $58k, seems like the boat you make will put every other boat builder out of business.

Brother, how much 15 V2 did you get on your reel? I just got one. I bomb baits a mile for snook and reds…. Was nervous that after a long cast… they can run and take me to school. I didn’t quite realize how shallow the M spool is. I’m considering going down to 8, just to make sure I have enough line! What are your thoughts? The specs online look questionable. I like asking a dude with the reel!

I wish I could tell you how much I got on there. I buy 15lb V2 in 2,500 yd spools, so I just reel it on there until it's full. I am only a bass fisherman, so the amount of line doesn't concern me as much as it would you fighting those big reds! 8lb power pro has shown to have breaking strength of around 26lbs which is crazy. Yes it will I have a 2500 and a 3000 vanford on this same rod. You’ll love it either way. I’d go with 15lb for the power pro. It’s plenty small in diameter and you can still see it.
