Every gi manufacturer is a little different. I would try an A2H first.

Hey Robin it’s Greg Taylor…used to train with you at Jeff’s place back in late 90s early 2000. If you remember I used to always be injured 😂. I’ve been in CA for years and just moved to Reno. Renzo has a gym 5 min from my house and I’m gonna get back into it. Funny that I googled Gracie Ohio and this is the first video that came up. Good seeing you again brother. I’m looking forward to getting back into it.

I'm a 55 year old 2 stripe white belt and I've never asked my coach for a promotion. I do think that a good coach will let people know what they need to work on instead of leaving it to chance. Maybe it's just me, but i think it's a coaches job to communicate with all of his students on where they're at in their progression. Also, I've heard there are some coaches out there that will hold students back from a promotion because they don't like them, which is totally unacceptable. They don't promote them all while they keep taking their money. Not good. Not good at all. Thanks for sharing. Great video.

As someone with a sports background I can’t help but find the belt system to be mostly arbitrary and silly.

From complete ignorance about Brazilian jujitsu: I was a student of Japanese jujitsu in my 20s and had to discontinue training for various reasons. I had achieved green belt and was working on brown. I’m 69 now, and have an urge to start training again. There is a Brazilian jujitsu academy near my home. How does one transition to a new discipline after so many years. I have weight trained for 30 years, and I am in great shape, with the exception of two knee replacements. Any thoughts from anyone?

Nine months in a gym(my fourth, fifth if you count one I still train at back east), arrived as a four stripe white. I skipped grading in the spring as it was Easter. Fall grading I did make and I told an on line friend its not my time. I was right and good to wait until April. One of the blacks had a chat and said I was close and I was good with that and content to wait until next year. Six weeks later, I and one other got it anyways. No big deal, kept on training as I always have and hope to prove them right in the months to come. To be frank just happy I can do this at 65.

Another unspoken rule: never praise a different school or coach in front of your coach. Brazilian coaches have fragile egos... (I'm half Brazilian...). On "not making eye contact", that's misplaced: the reason is that good BJJ fighters look at your torso or hips in order to anticipate your moves, thus rendering eye contact useless.

had my first class before knowing anything about it and gotta say, they didnt explain any of this to me I just got made to follow along with the rest of the class and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Everyone was very nice to me, but I felt extremely overwhelmed and a little bit stupid. It's a lot of information to take in, but you know what? It was still a lot of fun so I think I'm just gonna be that slow kid in the class who cant do anything right and keep trying until i get at least something right.
