This video astounded me. I like your video. I am a hindu from india, we usually burn body. We usually burn everything we attach ourself to, like our last worn dress. The Idea is the faster we destroy our attachment the faster and easier we proceed to next life. Its like you remove your dirty cloths, before your wear it again, you have to clean it, this can be by slowly hand cleaning or by a washing machine using soap, it latter takes time and effort We dont exactly celebrate death here in india, and mainstream hinduism. but we accept it as a process to to be feared but nor as a celebration, though it is said not to cry atleast and try to be happy during the last rites, so as to let the departing soul leave happily. Though happily burning the body is a bit idealistic, we still are mourning but we just keep a stoic face.

The series based on the 5 young boys (Central Park attack) when they see us is absolutely heartbreaking. Its crazy that some of them didn't even get an apology or money. I hope all these people in this video are doing okay now.

The first thanksgiving is a bit complicated. Layer 1 is that thanksgiving festivals had always been a thing across most of Europe, and Europeans in North America celebrated them so the one at Plymouth definitely wouldn't have been the "first" European harvest celebration in North America. Layer 2, the historical event people are referring to when they talk about the 1st Thanksgiving, which was a multi-day harvest celebration in the fall of 1621involving the English and their (at the time) allies the Wampanoag, did happen. It was very different than what we think of as the first thanksgiving story, but it is real in the sense of there was an actual historical event. Layer 3, the modern first thanksgiving mythology is largely something that came out of the 1870s and 1880s during the last of the major wars between the US government and various indigenous nations. A lot of it is Centennial-era nostalgia for the "colonial days" mixed with what was going on at the time and periodicals had no problem totally fabricating what is basically horrendously racist Victorian-era fan fiction set in the 1600s and presenting it to the public as historical truth. So I guess it depends on if you want to say the first thanksgiving isn't real because it wasn't the first, if it is real because it (inaccurately) references an actual historical event, or not real because most of what has trickled down to us today is essentially gross fanfic written around the centennial.

I remember when the West Memphis Three trial went on. I also watched the Paradise Lost documentaries. Those three guys were treated like sh*t. I'd love to see you breakdown the Central Park 5. That's another case of kids being treated like sh*t for something they didn't do.

WM3 was a travesty. I don't blame them for taking the Alfred plea, but it basically means the real killer will never be convicted, the city of West Memphis will never pay for the injustice and the 3 remain felons. But it got them out and no one else died. I probably would have done the same thing if it meant saving my best friend from the death penalty.

So crazy that the innocent have to go through this. makes me think of the based on a true story series on netflix "Unbelievable." A woman, played by Kaitlyn Dever, charged with lying about a rape, and how it ended up being found that there was a pattern, crossing different policing jurisdictions so it took time for anyone to really notice.

I knew all of them but, as a metalhead, The West Memphis 3 is extremely well known. This happened around my 14th bday and I got a cassette of Cannibal Corpse's EP from a friend. As soon as the news hit the papers my mother went through my entire music collection and destroyed almost all of it. Tipper Gore & the satanic panic ruined so many lives.

I imagine there were quite a few soldiers that were eaten by the crocodiles, but if you are going to tell a story why not exaggerate it? It's kind of just like the whole fishing story thing. Just make it a stretch for entertainment value. It may have also been a coping mechanism to make them feel better about the situation by getting all of the oohs and awes from their listeners. All of that mixed with trauma and hysteria from hearing those horrifying screams and sloshing of water as people got killed by crocodiles made for an easy scenario to be exaggerated not necessarily even intentionally.

This list I disagree with.. because you at start stated creature not pathogens yet two of your picks on list, is a human being killed by a pathogen not the creature. Rabies pathogen, Malaria pathogen… at this point on list should have dropped an animal or two for others. An example fleas and ticks because of Bubonic plague sure has killed way more people then sharks have.

British bats have rabies, but no other species (thankfully)
@michellejones554115 күн бұрын
@@golddragonette7795 Some bats in the UK carry rabies viruses called European Bat Lyssaviruses (EBLV). EBLV are not the classical rabies virus which is usually associated with dogs; classical rabies has never been recorded in a native European bat species. The presence of EBLV in bats in the UK does not affect the UK's rabies-free status as this relates to classical rabies only

Glad you talked about dogs. It's not just impoverished areas though - if you're bit by a dog and cannot get concrete evidence that the dog is vaccinated, (at least in the US) contact your state department of public health and they will likely pay for the vaccine out of an abundance of caution. Don't let finances be why you forego treatment.
