Ive had my titan radio for a while now. I had one from the first batch. But it had to go back as i couldn't turn the echo of . I've got a replacement one from the latest batch with all the updates etc. it's a nice little radio. Its not perfect but for the money it works well. The microphone is nice to hold and weighty . Ssb can sound hollow if the audio gain is to high i run mine about number 8 on ssb. As all the modes are adjustable in the menu . I have mine in the hf setting which is all adjustable..at turn on. The only thing i dont like is the clarifier . Especially if your on a zero . Cant seem to just adjust the rx only. . 73s. Nice video. WR456🇬🇧.

Hello 👋. Yes I don't know if it's just specific when your on the hf setting. About the clarifier. But I've found it quite odd that you can't adjust just Rx when your on a zero. You have to be in R+T setting in the clarifier setting to get to the zeros . Then of course it tracks in TX as well when you move the clarifier. Bit of a silly one that is. 😔.Unless it's different on the CB band when you turn it on for the different bands ? But I cannot fault the noise reduction circuit it works well here at my location. For the money I like it. Good power . Not a silly amount like the other radios. And sounds good in Rx as well. 73s my friend. Have a great Christmas to you and family. WR456🇬🇧. Richard. @gtretroworld Fluke 10,11 and 12 models all have this trait maily due to over enthusiastic button pressing over time. They were good basic meters and the 12 model was top of that range which Fluke/Philips released from memory in the late 1990s as an "economy grade" meter. You can see the lid of the unit at 7:42 on the right hand side. This is the part you need to dismantle further. Take out the pink/black zebra strips for LCD and PCB. Remove black cover on underside of lid. Pry out the rubber button grid, on the back you will find a piece of transparent laminated plastic "sandwitch" on the back side of the buttons which has a maze type pattern of carbon tracks sealed inside it. The centre of the 4 square tracks is the contact pad which is sealed inside the 2 laminate sheets. Each of the 4 button tracks is grounded when you put pressure on the front button. The contact routes along the track inside the transparent laminate to a 6 contact "pick up" zone which is the small zebra strip near the LCD. You will see the pink/black zebra strip makes contact with main PCB. You may be able to clean the zebra strip with foam cleaner and leave to dry & replace . Find where the laminated contact sheet meets with the strip , lamination is single layer in that very small area so you may be able to repair with conductive paint or suchlike. It is a difficult job to repair if you consider separating the laminate sheets to repair a broken track close to buttons ..probably undoable ! ,Fluke no longer supply spares for these models which is frustrating as the fault could be totally cleared by replacing just the laminate sheet which probably cost a quid/dollar to manufacture. If you want a real mans Fluke, try a 25 or 27 model, built like a tank, from same era as 10,11 & 12 but in a parallel universe when it comes to quality/safety, a large meter ..hell yeah but absolutely superb instruments in every way. Cost was circa £450-£600 in 1990s , Build quality second to none and cheap nowerdays if you go MOD Military surplus route. 73s Mike.

@rpcomms1 6 күн бұрын
Reason you maybe having issues is most of these newer radios use a narrower FM bandwidth/deviation FM system compared to the now defunct mpt1320 27/81 UK system ,can in some cases have incompatible problems new type to old types. Like perceived low tx audio to older UK CB ,and reversed too loud on newer Cb from older uk CB. Most are totally unaware ,as the older kit phased out now deemed not an issues by manufacturers. Multi-Norm to multi-norm in UK band you shouldn't have any issues. Hope that may shed some light 👍 Rob
@AllanM2e0
@AllanM2e0 6 күн бұрын
@@rpcomms1 I don’t think bandwidth is the issue here as the channels are the same spacing so the deviation will be the same, furthermore the issue is on the receiver not the transmitter while I know the uk 40 is not used as much now it’s still an issue where the older mpt 1320 is superior (depending on what radio of that period you go for). It’s more of how they are manufactured or being set up to be primarily used on the eu channels and the uk 40 be more of an afterthought or secondary afterall most of these are primarily for the European market.

@@gtretroworld I think it’s one to definitely be explored and see if there’s a disparity between the receiver capability on the eu 40 compared to the uk 40 especially on the multi norm sets (intek, midland 48 pro or equivalent) SSB sets especially the newer 3900 had an excellent receiver performance on all bands but the model you have on the bench I’m not so sure of. Dear friends, I am radio amateur from Armenia, Yerevan! EK6NK. I have purchased Sirio SY-3 yagi antenna for 11/10 meters in Paris in the shop! We tuned it how it was written in instruction and it worked very well on the floor/ground by using test mast for only 2 meters height. By antenna analyser we got good conditions of antenna data like: 1,11 SWR, 52 ohm impedance, -25.3db returne loss(see attached picture). But after installation on metallic-steel roof we have very bad data, we thought it is height of antenna and we increase it from 2.10 meter from roof to 2.80 meter, but no good changes(see attched picture). Also we have second VHF/UHF antenna on the same mast with vertical polarisation higher from Sirio by 1,5 meters(see attached picture). When we rotating antenna from South to North it working better, but not so good that we prefer. What do you think? What is our mistake? What to do ? Thank you in advance for advices Best regards, 73

Good video Neil but did you notice you said to should slide the top section back in 1 - 1.5 mm when you meant 1 to 1.5 cm lol
