Loving the series still. I've fallen behind a bit but just means ive got plenty to watch now! Love your learning process as you go. Also super jealous of all your tools! You have a sweet workshop 👌 I think the tunes worked really well, not sure yet what youve done moving forward but repeating them is fine 👍

Thank mate, glad you're enjoying the series! Haha, yeah I'll have to do some more wood working projects after this to make use of the tools. I've done a bit more music on videos where I've had time to dig through music librarys. You've got quite a few to catch up on, hope you enjoy the rest of the series! :D

i have the same sort of shower setup as you in my 43ft narrowboat boat i'm wondering what are you going to use to seal round the shower window to make it waterproof ..... it;s been mentioned to me that the windows are not normally in the shower like yours and mine so there's not much about to seal them the only thing i can find it a fibreglass window frame liner sort of thing which i'm not really keen on as my shower is clad with white pvc bathroom panels and the frame liners are only available in a dark wood grain effect
@EddHawkes4 күн бұрын
Hi Andy, I'm using white bathroom silicone sealant to seal around the window frame. I've got a tool which makes a really neat looking bead, so it actually looks acceptable once done.

Just wondering? A.Why have it slide in if you can still walk past it? B. Why not make like ours and have pull out to fill full area? Then fold to the size yours is when out!! Seems your just making a wider corridor to walk through. Have you lived on a boat before? Honestly just quizy
@EddHawkes4 күн бұрын
I can't walk past it when it's slid out, it blocks the corridor which runs down the middle of the boat. Eventually I will build a desk on that area which is clear at the moment. Yes, I have lived on a boat before 🙂

Great project completed Ed. Well done. Despite the weight capability I think I would fix a couple of supports at the end of the run to give extra support to the sliding frame. Especially when getting on or off the matress. Anyway just a thought.

Thank you! Yes, I'm with you on the supports. I've been thinking it over and I think I will put some in, just to be safe.

New shower hoses all seem to feel super cheap and shit. What used to be the standard quality of stuff now seems to be reserved for the hard to find premium expensive products only. Honestly that job with the lino is like my worst nightmare and all sealed up in the daylight it looked really rather neat. I fitted a small lino floor a few years back and made a right mess even though it was basically just a rectangle. The window trim looks fantastic!
@EddHawkesАй бұрын
Thanks mate. Yeah, I've been dreading doing the lino for some time. I knew it was going to be awkward and only having one shot at it made it feel a bit stressful. It is actually pretty neat in the end and I'm not disappointed at all, which I was immediately afterwards. Thanks! Now I just need to work out how to fix it in nicely. Still scratching my head over that one!

Amazing job! I wish I had half your woodworking skills and your flair for DIY, unfortunately I’m useless! I have just bought a narrowboat which is a little bit of a project so will be trying to learn a thing or two from your videos.
@EddHawkesАй бұрын
Thanks so much! You can definitely learn! I'm a firm believer that anyone can do anything, as long as you are willing to learn. The most important thing is you give it a go and don't be too afraid to mess something up. Most of these things I've never done before. I'm filming the next video now and I'm making silicone joins in the shower, it's not pretty, haha. I really hope these videos help. Please let me know how you get on, I'd love to know :)

@@EddHawkesuse (wood) glue that dries clear & use the wood fluff (aka sawdust) from your small sander, as long as its clean (incl your hands). Try it out first on an extra piece of wood to ensure the mix is right & dries how you want it.

loved it. Can the cooker hob be turned 90 degrees so that the big burner is away from the wall with the dials at the side instead of in front?
@EddHawkes2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I did actually consider that but the depth of the worktop is 600mm and that is the exact width of the hob, so it won't fit. I don't think it will even be a problem. I should dig out my wok and do a test fit 😂

Great job on the Cargo bike. Nothing wrong with jumping into it and then realizing that you need to change a few things. The Specialized looks too good to cut up. I agree. It looks great built to a gravel bike. Soda or beer cans make good shim material.

If a new plumbing system is installed you must open the furthest tap away from the pump “before turning on pump” so as to release the air in the system, once water exits cleanly without spurting air then turn off tap to see if pump stops, repeat process in water heater as no doubt that will be empty and full of air. Then with pump left on check for leaks, a sure sign of a leak or weepy joint is if pump comes on after a few seconds or a minute or so
@EddHawkes3 ай бұрын
Thanks, will do that!

You did right filing down those plumbing fitting ends - it's very common on quarter turn isolators that people use straight onto flexible tails and over time they chop right through the rubber washer if done up tight!. On the worktop, see if you can borrow a biscuit jointer off someone, as clamped together without some kind of floating tenons it's forever going to want to warp and not be an even join. Stumpy Nubs did a good video on the issue: kzbin.info/www/bejne/al6yeKd3qJZlkLM

get yourself a couple of the plastic pipe cover rings used to cover holes in laminate flooring to cover the slightly bigger holes they split in half and are cheap the do in wood or white or chrome effect solves bigger hole probs also with 15mm pipes going through framing you will need more than 16mm holes to allow for expanstion if not youll get creaking ps make sure the plug waste you got is one that is not got a slot cut in for an over flow as it wont seal
