What type of adhesive is used between the layers of leather at the process of assembling the upper and lower part of the boot? Is it still a slow setting contact adhesive or other? The positioning of the pieces is crucial, needs ample work time.

I'm I wrong or that not a welt? Isn't the welt a strip of leather sewn to the uppers that the sole get's sewn too?

I guess you are right. I think he is doing the Norwegian construction but not welted shoe. I would say there are two slightly different shoe constructions that are often mixed. The basic Norwegian is not welted while the Norwegian welt is (a.k.a the storm welt). Not sure really 😂 But I think it is as I described. The decorative stitching he is doing is called the Norwegian stitching. Which is just a decorative stitching, not Norwegian shoe construction nor the storm welt. How confusing is that 😂

I just brought a pair of steel toe boots off Amazon. After all the positive reviews I got to thinking…how are boots actually made? Which brought me here. Now before watching this video I actually saw a machine make a boot. And that was cool. But when I saw this. I thought wow. That’s art! After all the skill, patience, and craftsmanship. I could never wear those to work. Definitely wear them out though. I mean I spent close to $100 on mine. In my eyes you could charge $1,000 for those beautiful boots easy. And they’ll be worth every penny. Amazing work.
