Hi, any updates on this? I just found my 1983 Kodamatic 940 and one empty cartridge. Hoping to not have to throw it away.

I solved this issue today and now I am snapping pics like I did back in the 70's! All I had to do was jump in my DeLorean that Doc Brown gave me. I set my time machine for 1985 I drove the DeLorean to the K Mart store and bought a whole cart full of film cartridges that just happen to be on a Blue Light Special! How did I get so lucky? 1985 was the year they stopped production of the film due to the loss in court to Polaroid. So Kmart was practically giving the stuff away. So glad I still have my Colorburst from all those years ago.

Could I just slide the film into the corner for the pick arm to catch instead? I feel like I could glue in a border to hold the smaller film in place

This seems like an awful lot of work to have to do every time you get a new pack of film, when you can just buy the camera that the film is made for. I value my time too much to do this.

Unfortunately also in the model whit the crank the battery is used to open and close shutter and to make work the photocell;no battery no photos;not are manual cameras like Polaroid 180 that work totally whit no battery like old 110 b pathfinder roll film cameras

In the past I bought a Kodak instant camera whit 2 very rare trim print special film;one pack exposed and another open but not exposed, probably both whit solidified pods of chemical for development;I put in the trash this camera because was a camera for iso 160 original film not for iso 300 trim print and because special 6 v battery very flat is very rare to find;exactly like Polaroid pack film camera post 1976 used normally modern batteries aa size vs old 500 series battery in the same way 80 s Kodak instant cameras like kodamatic use normal size aa batteries vs old 70 s Kodak instant cameras use very rare at time type of battery that nowadays is Semi discontinued;I can t buy from Canada at gig prices battery for film that 99% will be totally unusable for dry solidified chemical;time ago before that I buy old 70 s cameras in another real store was a kodamatic 940 but at time I never bought it because no Film was available in the store

My Dad just gave me an EK6 thinking it could be worth something in a vintage sense. I'm not disappointed that its basically worthless, but saddened that he hung on to it and assumed it was valuable this whole time. I will keep it as an heirloom. Kind of want to use it but I don't know anything about these old cameras and based on this video, more complicated than I'm willing to invest in.

May be you can help me about this issue with your experience with the old Kodak instant camera I have just bought 3 Color burst Kodak cameras and after shot one photo in the next shot the motor of the camera don't stop. Do you know why? Trying to figure out why my motor is always running? Do you know where I can resend this email? Regards jmsabate

Cool. Going through some storage I found my old Kodak Colorburst 100 camera. Fortunately, there was an empty cartridge in it. The battery was stuck and I had to carefully pry it out, but it looks good inside. Ordering a battery to see if it comes to life OK and the motor works. If so, I will give this a try. Just not sure how you are getting the film into the cartridge, I guess I'll figure it out. Interesting.

I’d love one of those 3D printed cartridge holders for my SX-70. Do you think maybe it would be better to try with instax square film since it’s a bit wider which means the white pick arm doesn’t have to be as long? And I also just realised the pick arm is on the opposite side isn’t it lmao.

You convinced me. I just bought a Kodak 960L (folding Kodamatic instant camera) and a double pack of HS144-10 (the "high speed" film, one stop faster than the original PR-10, matches the camera) on eBay. I'm pretty sure I can at least get Instax Square to fit, probably Instax Wide (print size is close to the peel-off part of the Trimprint film i bought). By hook or by crook, I'll get it to work. Ideally, I'd like to 3D print an adapter insert to just plug the Instax pack into the Kodak camera, but the sheet inserts would be acceptable...
