I loved the first two seasons. Third one was also amazing in its own way, not comparable with the other two but amazing nevertheless. The thing that stood out was the villian. He was without a doubt the most hateable villian out of the whole franchise. And that is what makes this season amazing. In the previous seasons the villians were bad but I didn't hate them.

The first two Fargo seasons were outstanding. Was looking forward to the 3rd because of the cast, but it was just awful. The only memorable character was the return of Mr. Wrench from the 1st series. S-3 was an ugly, cruel, dull and pointless show. Terrible waste of talent.

This scene and the scene about mongol hordes to me is where season 3 shows how Varga is a different breed of wolf then Hanzee or Malvo that evil doesn’t just have to be a sociopath with a kill streak, but something far more insidious and undermining. Varga himself is a not a man of violence, he has others be violent for him, however, he breeds a perversion and corruption of the truth and reality, he intimidates through manipulation and cruelty, he controls and dominates conversation and thought with bullshit and misdirection. The wolf in sheeps clothing who charms his way inside before he devours you from within.
