I bought a Unagi e500 used with 3 miles on the clock, I rode it 2 miles and chucked it on eBay. It sold yesterday, so after a massive 5 miles it’s on its 3rd owner. Looks good but is trash, it vibrates like crazy and made my foot turn numb.

I don't know what to do because when I try your customer service email nothing happens I did not complete my ID verification I did not intend for the scooter to be delivered and then when I did get a scooter I would I decided you know what maybe I could give it a shot maybe I can try and come up with the money for this however I didn't even get a ride to scooter because the scooter you guys delivered me was broken I've had no way to get a hold of you nobody's responding to me and I'm not going to pay you guys for for the scooter any further. I need a full refund or I need a complete functioning scooter sent to me and the time that I've had this broken one or or refunded or credited to my account.

I have a tendency to have too much to say in the comments, so I have some thoughts and questions about this company as a whole. How did a good idea go wrong? I am intrigued by this company and have been reading all sorts of reviews. My thoughts: 1. The marketing needs to change. It needs to be more tutorial based. I watch other people's KZbin videos for proper stance and weight balance. Some of these videos aren't entertaining. Unagi needs to take the tutorial and make it entertaining. The current marketing oversimplifies and self congratulates a bit too much. The various button functions should have a credit card style cheat sheet. The tutorial videos on the buttons probably should have used 3/4 turn camera angles inside of 180⁰ side shots. It makes it seem like our instructor is above looking at his audience. We don't even need to look at the instructor. It should be about the Scooter with graphic labels popping up pointing to the buttons as they are used to reinforce learning the product. 2. The marketing also needs to focus more heavily on this scooter being for commuting and not for a trick scooter. I see how people treat Lime scooters, so they really need to stress that they shouldn't jump curbs or anything of the like with the scooter. 3. The map in the app needs to be more useful. You can't pan or zoom the saved rides map after it is saved. The feature is redundant because Google Maps Timeline does the same thing, but way better. The travel time and travel time moving is really useful. I'll give it that. I think their KZbin videos should even have tutorials on how to get the most out of Unagi using map apps from other companies and maybe even run sponsorships or cross promotions with OpenMaps or TomTom or whoever. These could also be tutorials for smartphones and smartwatches. I think it's important to sell the ecosystem of riding a scooter, so that people are getting the most out of their Unagi Scooter. 3. Something is very awry with support and service. I have no personal beyond still waiting for a response from my email about the second charger that was supposed to come with the promotion. Their KZbin tutorials are in no obvious location on either the app or website. ChatGPT-4 was better at giving me tutorials on this scooter than their own AI chatbot. Ouch. 4. The contact card sent via text for support upon joining the program was a nice touch. From personal experience though, nearly no one I send my contact card through text knows what to do with it. They don't know they have to tap it and tap save or done. I could not get it to turn on at first because I didn't know I was supposed to hold the power button for an extended period. 5. Something is very wrong with support. They must not have enough people or something. Email would be fine if they responded promptly, but they don't. I can see this company sinking if they can't get this right. Their reputation is already taking heavy damage and their response to contact support via email when it is that defunct is not really a solution. 6. I think they need three lines in the long term. They need a commute model. They need a sport (trick) model and they also need an Off-Road Model. They can be priced accordingly for potential insurance risk factors. The Voyager may as well be called Unagi One Pro. There's not much distinguishing them apart besides bumped up specs. Voyager does suggest long distances, so it's not lost on me. I just think they should phase out the first model and just give a battery upgrade option because that's what it amounts to. 7. The horn is all forms of wrong. People do not register the honk as a honk. They think someone's hearing aid is crapping out. Of all the parts of this scooter that feels nice once adjusted, that horn is not one of them. I'm better off yelling. Wow is that horn sad. 8. The accessories store is a bundle of missed opportunities? Why not have a helmet with turn signals? Why not sell wearable LED bracelets? Hell, why not sell LED suspenders. I think the over priced blankets say they don't really understand customer needs and are trying to be the wrong form of fashionable. 9. The app big bold text and buttons is perfect and on point. They should keep that design language. The information should be glanceable because you're only really pulling your phone out when stopped or at a red light. That credit card tutorials for buttons I mentioned should also be in here. Although, almost everything in the app is redundant to the controls on the handlebars, that take time to get used to. The eLock is particularly thoughtful though. I think the app mostly has the right idea. It just needs to be actually useful. 10. I think they can turn this all around, but they have to fix support first. Support is not good at all and yet it's one of the main promises. I am enjoying my scooter so far, but this is definitely a scenario where one should proceed with caution. Support and Marketing needs an overhaul.

I have two days and 35-miles under my belt. So far, so good with the scooter itself. I have even gotten used to the brakes after watching tutorials online about distributing weight. Unagi still hasn't responded to my emails though, so it seems the complaints about customer service seem to be accurate. I am committed to this scooter for four months, so I will decide if I'm still going to do this rental program then ... because if they don't respond to emails how will I get it replaced if it breaks down or gets stolen? It kind of defeats the purpose of the rental program if there's not enough people replying to email support.

I had my first voyage today on this. It was an 8-mile trip. The headlight is surprisingly bright. While it is bumpy, it is much smoother than the Okai Beetle and the Jetson eBike. The electric break is touchier than I'd like, but the accelerator button feels good and responds the way I'd hope it would. The break will take some time to adjust. It is also worth noting that I live in a crime drenched city, so tires with no tubes is really the only way. Broken car glass is littered all over the side walks from break ins.

I got mine working. It seems to require a ten second wait after unplugging. Features I would like to see in the future is a credit card instruction manual for the various button fuctions as stopping on the sidewalk to watch a KZbin video isn't ideal. I would also like to see a smartwatch app, so I don't have to pull the phone out. I am only on my first day. I can attest to the fact that replies from support is slow. Don't expect a same day reply. There is an AI chatbot you have to go through before it'll share the support email, but they also send you a contact card via text message. Make sure to add this contact card to your phone, so you can bypass the AI if you know it can't help you. Otherwise, the scooter I got is very beautiful and got some oomph to the accelleration. The ride is a bit bumpy, but I am hoping the ride will soften as the tires are broken in. No major complaints here. Just minor hiccups. I cannot attest to long term use, but first day is mostly good.
