I love the music of Skynyrd..! But I’d go crazy playing exactly the same thing night after night.. I appreciate bands that can improvise and still make the songs recognizable… But I still love Skynyrd ..🔥❤️🙏🏻

During this summer I heard one of my favorite bands ( = Chicago) with EWF in Concord /CA the 1st time of my life live on stage with EWF. I'm 58 now and when I was ten years old, I was fascinated seeing the band in 1976 on TV performing "if you leave me now". I didn't know that time who Terry Kath was.... I love this great musicians and in Concorde I had the pleasure for a short small talk with Robert Lamm. Great artists and great musicians!

As a 60 year drummer, that song changed my life. We played it at a school improvised concert for the kids when we were in the 6th grade, (along with the Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida drum solo). It was crazy cheesy, but what a great song!

What a gift the Good Lord gave us in Vince Gill. His talent is almost undescribable. And just a great human being. He is so humble. I know a few people in the music industry in Nashville and they say no matter who you talk to, they say Vince is the nicest, kindest most down to earth guy in town. He'll do anything to help someone, and Amy is the same way. God bless them both. I do get really pissed when people say stuff like, "He's not Glenn Frey.. " He'll never replace Glenn Frey" "Who does he think he is trying to replace Glenn Frey".. people. HE IS NOT trying to replace Glen Frey!!! He is just doing a part to keep probably the best band the world has ever known, to live on and to remember Glen Frey! Henley called him. He didn't call Henley. Let it go! And what a treat to see Vince and Joe Walsh together. Like one of most unlikely combinations I thought I would ever see. Kind'a like Robert Plant and Allison Krause. Who would have ever thunk it!. Lucky for all us music fans, these combinations just happen to have come together for us to enjoy.

My musical hero. I learned more from Pig and never got to meet him. I did get to talk to him on the phone and I got to tell him how much he influenced me. A wonderful kind man. I still use his licks today. He was the best.

That squares with my memories of Springsteen in Richmond. I was a young teen and saw Steel Mill at a couple of free shows near VCU. Bruce was a guitar hero then. Then in '72, as Gary says, he toured the Wild, the Innocent...album and played the VCU gym. He was opening for Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, who I went to see. I was kind of disappointed because, as Gary suggests, it sounded like Van Morrison...no more guitar hero then. I did dig Gary's Danelectro Shorthorn bass. Richmonders kind of claimed Bruce as their own and he has shown up from time to time. A few years ago the city was abuzz about Bruce and Patty and their kids in town and Bruce showing them all of his old haunts (most gone) and taking them to a couple of happening restaunts. Apparently Gary still has some of his old friends in Richmond.
