Awesome.. my juvenile just hit a pretty big molt lastnight. Its maybe 3.5" now so still a long way to go. I like that cork tube you have.. or maybe its real wood. Its nice. Super fast spider.

Looking to get my first T. I'm torn between the Grammostola Rosea and the Eupalaestrus Campestratus. Tom Moran recommended the peru blue but it looks to active. I am arachnophobic and want a pet rock. How active is yours?
@makesomethinginteresting2 жыл бұрын
Grammostola rosea is the best choice if you want a pet rock. They are generally friendly, but every spider has his own temperment. My Peruvian blue passed away a couple years ago. I'd reccomend getting the Grammostola Rosea since it's a good beginner tarantula.

@@makesomethinginteresting @Peter Starus I've been learning that individual Ts may not fit the general stereotype. I've been debating between the rose hair and the PZB because I have seen both labeled as pet rocks. I was curious if the peru blue were really active species or not. But yeah, I definitely want a pet rock as my first T. Thank you Peter

Honestly, if you want a rock go for an a.chalcodes lol. My adult female moves, maybe once every few days? Lol.

@@denofsouls9564 after talking to people on arachnaboards, I went with a Grammostola Pulchripes due to it having a similar appearance as the Eupalaestrus Campestratus and docile temperament. She crawled in the log hide about a week after I got her and has been there since.

Where can I get a hollow piece of wood like that one?
@makesomethinginteresting3 жыл бұрын
Online is the best bet but a pet store might have it too. These are called cork bark tubes, prices vary based on shape and size. Overall, cork bark tubes are excellent for a pets needs due to being mold resistant.

Where did you get that bit of wood from??
@makesomethinginteresting3 жыл бұрын
It's a cork bark tube. Plenty of sites sell them online, or you can go to a pet store but that's a more expensive option. It is great not only for the natural environment it provides, but also because it doesn't get moldy or rot like other materials.
