MM is SOOOOOOO clever. He played with Ducati and removed competition for 2025 at the same time. Masterful on and off the track. His comment that he wont move to Pramac resulted in. 1) Scored the factory Lenovo bike 2) Jorge cracked the shits and took the first offer that wasnt Ducati, so that left Pramac without a top rider and Ducati lost his skills 3) Pissed off Enea and so he jumped the Ducati ship too in protest. He could have gone to PRAMAC but as a protest left Ducati. 4) Removed PRAMAC so less top riders on the top bike. PRAMAC jumped the Ducati ship in protest and because Yamaha offered a golden deal, whereas Ducati would have still been screwing PRAMAC for $$ and conditions. 5) MM now only has Pecco to compete with in 2025, on the same bike because everyone else is on a 'new to them' and inferior bike. 6) Pecco has foolishly declared that he 'needs' the garage harmonious in 2025, like it is now. MM now knows how to undo Pecco even before they get on the track. If MM is not 2025 World Champ then I dont know what.

I must say the retro SILVER on the fairing works well. Blacked belly pan also. The 999/749 styling is a bit slab sided, so this is a good slab breakup. Ties the frame in too. My 749 is the 2005 model in red frame/black wheels so I'm happier with the colours. Interestingly I have just acquired a 2010 Monster 1100S, so my garage looks very similar to yours.

It's actually a 749s. I'm going to do a suspension video sometime this track season. Last year was spent getting back into the flow, this year I'll be working towards tuning things. There's a lot of videos on the work I've been doing on the bike this year on the channel. -T

A few pro tips. a) I find it tends to be easier to load the bike when walking it up as long as you have the room to walk beside it. By not having weight on the seat, you'll scrape fewer parts. b) Didnt PitBull supply a bungee cord to hold the stand up? Dragging that TRS up over the metal where it is catching will get old very quickly c) Most importantly (and this may require a friend) - instead of backing up and trying to align the TRS pins, set the front and then use the TRS bar to lift the back up and adjust the position.
@FloridaMotoTalk
@FloridaMotoTalk 3 күн бұрын
I didn't use the bungee because the hope was to just roll straight into the TRS. I also didn't want to be clambering around trying to undo the bungee. The main issue was the clutch jumped at a bad time and launched the stand over the TRS as I also rolled over the wheel chock that was still there knocking me out of alignment. It was obviously a total disaster. Next attempt didn't go much better but more on that later. I have a plan though 😉 -T

Absolute yes for earplugs. Get the max db rating ones that are either 29 or 32 db. I do know people who ride with music, but that's not my jam. Still have the OEM master cylinder. Only get brake fade if I'm doing consecutive hard sessions - like >30 minutes of pushing and hard braking within an hour.

Appreciate the positive comments. I was the Lead Intermediate both days. It was definitely a full house (more than 40). We do our best to try and keep the peace and make sure EVERYBODY has a great time and goes home safe. Saturday started out a little rough with red flags, but it cleaned up nicely by lunch and we didn't have any the rest of the day....and Sunday was clean too (which is a testament to the riders being smart and acting like adults). Glad everyone had a good time. We're blessed to be so close to the place. I think you're spot on when you say that it's a lot for a first time Novice. I'm not going to preach to anyone how to spend their money, but getting a few days at a less expensive and smaller track will make someone really appreciate and get the most out of a day at Barber. Also speaking of how nice the facilities and grounds are - Mr Barber takes so much pride in keeping the place immaculate. For the past few years they've had a mini-moto event on the proving grounds with Groms, etc, including a few endurance races. All went great until this last year when a few degenerates decided to wreck havoc on the place. They were tearing up the grass intentionally, riding like idiots with one moron doing a burnout on the bathroom floor. Needless to say, there will never be an event like that again at Barber. Lifetime ban all because 1% of the customers decided to tear up this beautiful facility.

I had no idea anybody did trackdays without tech inspections 🤯 STT does a great job with novice group, you get actual instruction and active coaching. They also offer a race school for advance group. Great org. Barber was my first track (granted that was around 2005) and I can say the biggest problem with starting there is going to a Jennings or Tally AFTER. The track and the facilities spoil you bad.
@FloridaMotoTalk

Stealing the bed idea, I go on track days and long trips for motorcycle trips. And I hateeeee sleeping in my truck, the e-track idea is perfect for me so I can keep the functionality of my trailer for bikes, and break it down when not needing to sleep, or when towing my snowmobiles in it
@FloridaMotoTalk
@FloridaMotoTalk Ай бұрын
It works well, I'd just recommend getting a thick and comfy pillow top to go up there. I also need to build some sort of ladder to make access easier, but being able to break it down is a major benefit.
@braaapattack2937
@braaapattack2937 Ай бұрын
@@FloridaMotoTalk mine would be about 40” off the ground to clear the tail of the bikes when 4 are in my trailer, otherwise I’d have another set of track about 20” off the floor (only need enough for a twin bed, as usually I’m the nominated tow-pig for when on road trips, and everyone else piles in with others who smoke since I don’t and don’t want my truck to smell like cigarettes). Otherwise my trailer will have 2 at most in it when on a track day which leaves me about 7’ of trailer empty behind the bikes which is plenty Did you pin the boards to each side? Or just one? I’ve seen some just toss the boards in and toss the plywood ontop
@FloridaMotoTalk
@FloridaMotoTalk Ай бұрын
@@braaapattack2937 I just put the 2x4 support pieces in the etrack bracket. The wood and bracket are stout and secure, so I didn't see any need to screw them in.
