we need goblin raids on the player so that we have something to tell the press when we eventually go on the great goblin slaying crusade

I love that anyone who grew up north of Cali has an inborn hatred of Geese.

Having more creatures is always a fun time. Even more fun if you don’t make them hate each other for no reason, instead make one group raid the other or fund the form of the other unappealing, and when they hate each other enough they will start fighting on sight.

Another good goose action would be if you programmed in an intimidation function or zone of some kind. Geese win most fights by showing how little of a fuck they give about your size.

Honestly, self realized fantasy setting is exactly the kind of thing I've always wanted. It's something I enjoy watching in dwarf fortress with what little I've tinkered with that. That said, the dwarfs don't build the fortress themselves, so this is great.

idea: set a range of maximum geese population, like 7-12, but it is attached to the mother goose. if the mother goose dies then another goos is randomly selected as the new mother goose and it inherets the flock size +/- 1-3 with an absolute hard cap of 30, and low cap of 3. The geese can increase their numbers by breeding or absorbing smaller flocks, and if a flock size exceeds its maximum then one goose will randomly be assigned as a new mother goose and take a handful of geese from the larger flock. you'll need some cooldown to prevent an infinite recursion of geese joining and leaving a maxed out flock This will provide a since of variety in flock sizes, and if you base the flocks behavior off of the mother goose with some variation then it will also make each encounter slightly different, adding to the immersion

I second this. Behind the simplistic, minimalist graphics, there is a great simulation fantasy game. It is one of my favorites, I love watching empires rise and fall, and track all the itens and characters story. Dwarf Fortress also do this well, though it is completely opposed in level of complexity.

What you really need is an evil tree. It might make a nice first big enemy. It could look normal until approached (or indeed be normal and swap out models) then it starts swiping at you. A full blown ent would be a lot of work but even just a tree that lashes out could be cool
@alexkrueger94153 күн бұрын
While introduced to this channel through this video and hoping to see goblins introduced to something like ennui, entropy, or generalized misplaced anxiety and depression for the abstract evil, I am nonetheless satisfied to see the uncaring vindictive goose in its place. Something more recognizable and kickable, though still evil in its own right. I hope your modeler learned his lesson, ps. A master lock brand lock might help keep that hatch sealed, but what you really want is some thick high carbon steel chain.
