Hi Joe , Great interview and very interesting how they look at the way they view food for koi it makes a lot of sense. There cannot only be Saki that is "THE" food for koi there are lots of new foods on the market but these guys seem to know what they are on about and its well worth a try!

Hi Joe I’m interested in this food but what do you do if you have tosai nisai sansai and gosai and beyond in your pond what food would you go for or a mix of all three but then all your fish would eat all the age types etc
@TheKoiPerspective26 күн бұрын
Hi Mate, I had a similar questions, the idea they have is you feed the jumbo on larger pellets first with larger fish then let the Tosai have a feed on smaller pellets after

You'll love your trip to Japan. I was fortunate enough to go to Japan with the BKKS in 1975 and again in 1976 and had the privilege to meet Dr. Kuroki and other members of the ZNA (Zen Nippon Airinkai - All Japan Koi Association) while I was there. Things have changed so much in the hobby since my visits 50 years ago and I'm very much looking forward to seeing your videos of your trip.👍🏻

Fantastic interview. I've been subscribed to Samuel's for some time now and was shocked when he put out his video about what had happened to his fish. I've been keeping koi for over 50 years now and although have heard about disagreements and some heated conversations between koi keepers I've never heard about someone wilfully killing koi before. Thankfully the koi in Samuel's main koi pond came through things with only minimal damage.

Sorry to say clormine does not go out the water in hours it would take longer it’s more like to be bleach or liquid tabs
@koikanalenАй бұрын
You may be right 🙏 there is many different chlormines or chlorines. Some only stay in the water a few hours 🙄 But again, i will never be able to Proof anything

Very interesting video! The topic of filtration for ponds is always relevant, especially when it comes to keeping the water clean for koi. I recently started dealing with this myself, and after trying a few solutions, I realized that different filtration systems work differently depending on the size of the pond and the number of fish. It's important to find what truly suits your specific conditions, and that often takes time and testing. I’ve had a few unexpected discoveries along the way. By the way, there are also more compact filter options that work great for smaller ponds, which was really useful in my case. Good luck to everyone in finding the perfect solution for your pond
Hi Joe , how are the fish getting on ? Is the system solving the problems? I’m looking at going down this route with Andy , as I can’t find the problem, fish are all over the shop , no parasites, water on drop tests fine
@TheKoiPerspective2 ай бұрын
I'll likely do a follow on video to this one due to the amount of messages I've had from interested parties. So far so good, although I believe the dramatic change in parameters has taken them slightly by surprise due to how quick I've changed the TDS, pH and gH levels.
