Watching Rick hand spawn the koi like that is interesting but frightening at the same time for fear of injuring the koi by squeezing too hard. Definitely not something a novice should try. The matsakawabake female is stunning and combined with the shiro male and beni kumonryu male will hopefully produce some amazing offspring. 💯👍🏻👍🏻

Such a great video! I loved hearing Amir's perspective of going to Japan for the first time with Tony and seeing the koi farms in person. It's also great to see Amir paying homage to the late Keith Holmes and what he is doing now to continue to improve The Barn and bring new energy to the company. Also loved seeing Daniel Blackman's pond and hearing about his journey with the hobby and with Koi Water Barn!

Are there any plans to cover the daily lives of ordinary Japanese hobbyists? No one has ever featured them before, only breeders and certain dealers.

I would absolutely love to, however I need to get to Japan first!

@TheKoiPerspective2 ай бұрын
@@atsuminaoki9910 do you think that because it is natural water rather than water with chlorine and heavy metals and high TDS has a lot to do with it? Personally I do.

@@TheKoiPerspective I only experienced this in Cheshire a long time ago. Of course, there I was surprised by the presence of blanket weed and calcium on the electronic kettle. However, after a lot of fine-tuning and feeding, giving the KOI the same seasonality as in Japan while prioritising their swimming and behaviour, I was able to create pond water full of shiny aerobic bacteria, just as I had done in Japan. Recent footage from Ricky at KWS and A&C KOI confirms that this is possible in other areas. While there are certainly differences in water quality with Japan, the most significant differences are the unplanned disregard for seasonality and the absence of the practice of observing and judging the KOI itself, which is a crucial difference.

All the relationships in the world will be irrelevent in a few more years as the middle east and china pay more and the breeder could of really relied on your trade but the person paying more will always get the fish
