Do you have any new recommendations for an action cam used as an action camera? Im using an akaso with hdmi on a ebike as a rearview mirror and displing image on my phone. It works well but can't see anything at night

I would like 4K 60 FPS coming from camera, and 4K 60 FPS going for recording. But streaming need to be in HD60. As you were explaining. In such a case what would the canvas size be? the output resolution is for streamign right? it also affects recording?

Hi Thanks for your Video. I am able to connect two camera but when I connect a third camera I am unable to pick it up on OBS or if I am able to pick it up, then one of the first two cameras are deactivated. I am connecting one camera direct to the laptop and the second via the docking station. any thoughts?

I have a silver reed 500, I got double colour ribbon. But I noticed everything I use the red colour the ribbon will then escape from its holder, because it raise the ribbon higher when type the letter, once it return to its rest position it doesn’t go back to where it should. Is there anyway to fix this? Super annoying.

Really dumb question on the hookups, but I'm brand new to this technology. I'm trying to convert my old VHS tapes to digital. My VCR only allows S-cable for DVD, so I'm using the old standby cables. I have the white and red cable plugged into the VCR line out on the back of the VCR machine and they go into the Yitrox HD Video converter upscaler on input spots matching white and red. Next, I have hdmi out of the upscaler and the other end of the hdmi into the Elgato HD60X. The part I'm not sure about is the final connection: Usb-c is leaving the Elgato HD 60X and going into my laptop's USB 2.0 with cable Elgato supplied in the box. I only see the colored vertical lines, but I know the VCR works and the cables are good. I tried the USB 3.0, but that didn't work either. The Elgato HDMI out is does not have anything attached. Do I need to buy another HDMI cable and connect both the USB and HDMI into the laptop? I don't think that makes sense either. I'm lost. Thank you for the excellent video. I appreciate any tips, tricks, or advice.

ive tested all of these things and it still doesn't work. i have a canon t6s and there is no option in the camera to send out an hdmi signal i have no idea if that is the reason or not but it still does it.

So theoretically if I had one. And I wanted to record on my Nintendo switch, would I plug the capture card into the back of the switch in the hdmi port? And then once I do that do I plug in the other side of that into my computer? And then from there I can use the video that’s in my computer for whatever I want?

Are there any action cameras that can do this same exact thing over WIFI? I don't want to physically connect the laptop to the camera with a cable (as the distance will vary) but I still want OBS to record the stuff from the camera. Possible?

Want to use an HDMI capture card to connect my Sony HD 1920x1080 camcorder to a windows pc. It records at 1080 60i NTSC. What would be a compatible capture card if I wanted to save streamed video and do I need to convert 60i footage to 60p. Sorry I’m not a techy. Thanks

when I open OBS, no menu appears across the top. So when you say click on "Files" I can't because no menu is across the top. How can I solve this? I have to pause the video until I get an answer to this problem, because I can't follow along without the menu that you use.

I really like your setup and your clarity in explaining the concepts. I am migrating to OBS from Kdenlive, which I know like the back of my hand, but OBS is a complete mystery. Videos like yours are very helpful. Thank you for taking the time and effort.

Hi there, im using a canon powershot sx530 hs dslr camera that i was hoping to use for streaming. i have it plugged into a capture card and running it through OBS. i get rainbow bars when i have it in the live function but they go away when i click the playback button on my camera and flip through photos. I am able to see the photos, videos, and audio on the camera in OBS but as soon as i click out of that, it goes back to rainbow bars. I've tried disabling and enabling the capture card and reinstalling it. even restart my computer but nothing works! if you can help me out i would be so grateful, thanks!

I had to fiddle around with my options, and I dont know if what I did was correct, but I just use the capture card for recording rather than streaming (for now, anyways). I was having trouble with hearing gameplay while recording etc (audio was there when watching the recordings, just not coming out of my laptop while recording). I went onto my video source and went onto its settings and then scrolled to the bottom to where it said audio output mode and clicked use custom audio device. Then, a new tab shows underneath, and i set that audio device to my USB Digital Audio. I am using a USB3 capture card, by the way. All in all, it seems to be working how I want it to work 😆 Thought I'd share in case someone else was having similar issues. Use headphones. Otherwise, the audio doubles on the recording.

Hi, thank you for this feedback, my question is that I use camrecorder is connected to PC via S-video cable, and using obs to convert the recorded video, unfortunately, the vidoe device capture's audio doesn't work, the video is output without a voice, how can I do to assocciate the sound with recorded video?

I have this exact same issue and have had it for awhile. I had a protection plan from the place I bought it from but they only ever tested the line even when i stated the usb is the thing at fault... My guess now is to put the line out of the mixer into my old iscarlet to see if that works? brutal fix but I cant seem to find any other good mixer for streaming music
