It's so frustrating when you teach a high-level group and students only answer 'yes' or 'no'. Come on guys, you have repertoire, please speak more!!!
@D.English.Academy19 күн бұрын
@@brunosilva3581 haha, well there could be loads of reasons for the simple yes/no answers. They aren’t exactly a regular group, some might be shy/uncomfortable, others might be introverted, some might be waiting for others to reply, some might be those perfectionists that would rather stay quiet than get the answer wrong (especially since they are being recorded), and so on and so forth 🙃

The teacher also made great use of closed questions to clarify concepts and instructions, so I wouldn't say it's a bad thing on the students' account.

Thank you for your tips. But If we are working with listening as a presentation stage for grammar, do we have to do the same?
@D.English.Academy3 ай бұрын
You’re most welcome 🤗 in a text-based lesson where listening is the model text, it all depends how much time you have - if it’s a lesson that’s 45-60 mins, then I usually do one listening task and get into clarification of the target language (meaning, form, pronunciation, appropriacy if needed) and the practice stages of the target language. However, if you are teaching 90 mins and more, you can still do listening with decoding work and then get into clarification of the target language. ☺️

To Join this course do I need at least a c1 certificate? that is my question I just have a b2 certificate( ECCE) and I got it from Michigan, Currently I work as english teacher in Ecuador . What would you recommend to me? I appreciate your answer.
@D.English.Academy6 ай бұрын
Hi! It depends on the centre you choose. Some centres ask for proof (e.g. IELTS/CAE/CPE, etc.) that shows C1 level. However, mostly, the CELTA tutor who’s going to interview you will be looking for English that’s sufficient to teach students, without necessarily requesting a certificate. Since you are already teaching, it’s quite clear that your English is great. If I were you, I’d just apply 🙂 The centre where I work and help teachers become CELTA qualified is Centre of English Studies (CES) Dublin. I work on part-time online courses with amazing colleagues. See if you want to join our course, we’ll be happy to have you. Here’s some info for you: www.ces-schools.com/english-courses/certificate-in-english-language-teaching-to-adults-celta

Thank you for the demonstration lesson, Daryna! It was great! I have a question about the MPF explanation. Usually, we follow the MPF sequence, where pronunciation precedes form. I noticed that during the lesson, you first checked the spelling and then focused on pronunciation. In terms of the TTT framework, is this sequence a more effective way to introduce vocabulary?
