Elementary CELTA Online Lesson | Vocabulary Listening Speaking | Test-Teach-Test | ESL | Feelings

This Demo lesson was taught to Ecuadorean elementary learners. We start with a getting-to-know-you activity (2 truths, 1 lie) where I first demonstrate how the task is done, and then Ss do it in pairs about themselves. Then we do a lead-in to our lesson, followed by Test-Teach-Test lesson stages on vocabulary to do with feelings and emotions. We then had a semi-controlled practice. Following this there was a bit of listening and some freer practice. We finish off with delayed error correction that was done through the chat as screenshare didn't work for me.

Note that this is the very first lesson with these learners, i.e. they are not my regular students. They are also pretty new to the online environment so at times they were shy, but they did take part when encouraged. Also, there are six teachers observing and not taking part.

Thank you for the demonstration lesson, Daryna! It was great! I have a question about the MPF explanation. Usually, we follow the MPF sequence, where pronunciation precedes form. I noticed that during the lesson, you first checked the spelling and then focused on pronunciation. In terms of the TTT framework, is this sequence a more effective way to introduce vocabulary?
