I think the Mau-Maus were cut from Up in Smoke too...the first band I saw at the Roxy was the Cramps.....the Roxy was to upscale of a venue they didn't have many Punk band play there...down the street at the Whisky they would have some of the bigger Punk bands like the Weirdos, Circle Jerks...Germs played there once too....

@YoungNino2017 Just look up the Whores/Bi School.Oddly,it's listed as the Whores but has a cover of Village.I guess it's an album or studio version.

So does any footage from The Germs playing for 'Up in Smoke' exist? I am sure they filmed a bit of each band and then picked what to use in editing. Release the footage!

Speaking of which, pretty sure Penelope Spheeris filmed an entire live set but the only full songs in Decline of Western Civilization are Manimal and Shutdown. Also, supposedly she shot a full live set of the Adolescents that has never seen the light of day. Mind boggling that she didn't think they belonged in Decline. I won't name names but I can definitely think of a couple of bands who would have been a better choice for the cutting room floor.

Every time I see a video of Foo Fighters on stage, rather than focus on whatever crazy shit Dave Grohl's doing i just look at Nate Mendel and try to see his reaction... the guy's made of stone, barely cracks a smile! Here he held his head in his hand for a second, and I think it's the most lively reaction I've ever seen from him

He’s really nice too, he used to come into the record store I worked at in LA. He would bring in FF merch to give the employees. At that point he quit the band and had a bunch of leftover stuff… He would hang out and chat about punk & music sometimes. I have a signed FF CD somewhere from him…

Watching this, I'm reminded of how many bandmembers Pat has lost over the years. Darby Crash, Kurt Cobain, Lorna Doom, and now Taylor Hawkins. It hurts just to think about it.

Yeah....I think about that too...I grew up in the L A Punk scene and knew Pat n those guys....after Darby Pat never really seemed to be too upset but now after so many band mate dying it's gotta upset him.....I geuss death is the flip side of the Rock n Roll coin

You cant just say "oh this could've stopped him" because that applies to literally everything, therefore nothing. The fact is what happened happened and saying "oh only if xyz" doesn't equate to any real argument because it's just speculation. I think people do this to try and have a level of control over tough things that happen.

I think pat got lucky, I would’ve imagined him to be one of those unlucky guys in the music industry who’d end up working at a record store nothing wrong with that but pat was a great guitar player even in the 70s. Nirvana and that relationship he had with Dave set it. Pat is a great guy and deserves it
