i like the different and educational approach you take with these videos, it's refreshing and enjoyable to watch with all the fast paced "same, same" content other channels pump out. cheers!

I always liked the cork dust look
@BaitworksTV7 күн бұрын
Sadly the cork brings nothing to a bait and when you think a pop up may have 50% volume in them, it's a huge waste of that amount of good stuff.
@edpoole35 күн бұрын
I always thought that but I’d much rather an all round, consistently better pop up/hookbait compared to what it looks like. Plus the carp won’t tell the difference… especially as freebies don’t have the cork dust look 😉

One thing holding your snails back on your lake might be the hardness of the water or rather the lack of it, you can buy API gh/kh tests for about £15 and it's well worth checking. We had a similar issue on my lake, it was full of potential food for the snails (lots of organic material - too much to be honest!) but aside from a few occasional flourishes they were seldom seen even when looked for. Turns out there was very little available calcium so they didn't have the basic materials they needed to grow their shells and after a few tons of chalk they bred like wildfire! Obviously you're going to want to check your pH, nitrates and ammonia before you go filling it in to avoid an algae disaster or converting the relatively harmless ammonium to ammonia but even adding just a few sacks to certain areas can give the bugs that little push they need to start filling their niche in the environment.

As long as you don't feed them to any animal or throw them on the bank there's nothing wrong with using micro balloons for pop-ups. Sodium caseinate or shrimp meal are less suitable.
@colnevalleycarping8 күн бұрын
Interesting concept the snails, will take many years to help a biomass improve so good luck helping the fishery 👍 the pop up ingredient whilst not giving away trade secrets is it the same ingredient used in air ball pop ups? They look good 👍
@BaitworksTV7 күн бұрын
We use the same ingredient in all our pop ups now, it won't be the same ingredient that everyone uses but ours are now all using the closed cell ingredient at extremely low volumes so that gives us well over 90% of the good stuff that really make a difference.

Mate, your bait is undoubtedly attractive to carp. Bizarrely, so in fact! I fish a low stock river and both times I've got 5kg of your stuff I've had a few fish. What I'm wanting to know is more details about what you were saying on one of your vids where you mention your baits irritating the carps digestive tract. I know it's good for a bait to be easily digestible, but deliberately irritating their gut seems a bit mean! One of my fish was projectile pooing, which I've never seen before. I just want to check that I'm not harming the fish cos I am a convert to the baits and would like to use them again. Ta.

Irritates their olfactory system not the digestive system surely?

Love the content guys, another great film for the viewers to watch. And I love the fact you pushed the fish care aspect. I think it should be mandatory to carry carp care, forceps and a pair of pliers encase you need to cut the eye off a hook. I carry all of this!
@BaitworksTVАй бұрын
Indeed, I totally agree that carp care kits should always be mandatory also! Hopefully it happens one day. Thanks for the kind feedback also, glad you enjoyed the video.

I had a bar in a small village in the Pyrenees called MAULEON BARROUSE. Within the first week I needed to fish!… The river in front of the bar held a good stock of trout…. But not my bag! However, the locals told me of a communal lake less than a kilometer away that had big fish in it.🤔. Of I went , armed with 1 carp rod, a tin of meat and gave it a go. Lordy! Did I have fun. 3x 40’s , many 30+ and lost some monsters. Didn’t have the right gear as it’s in the middle of butt flip nowhere🤦♂️….. go find it… u will be happy ime sure! 🙌👍
