Crazy Fishing Location - Catching Carp By The Beach - Mark & Mike

Mark Bryant and Mike Holly head off in search of a rather unique location. Carp and beaches aren't something you see everyday but the Bude canal offers the opportunity to combine the two. Sand, Sea, Surf and maybe a carp or two but the weather and mother nature had other ideas! Enjoy.

Blimey this has brought back some good memories, my late wife and I used to holiday in Devon and Cornwall every year and I fished the Bude canal a few times, must have been well over 30 years ago, had quite a few carp mainly singles and doubles but every now and again the odd low twenty would turn up. I remember one year I was getting a bite a chuck on peanuts, a local angler asked me what I was using and thought I was taking the piss until I showed him my bucket of throffing bait, happy days.

Great video. I have many happy memories of Bude from Childhood, epically the Falcon where we drank bottles of Coke and ate crisps. Never fished the canal though.

I fished here last year while we were on holiday it's definitely one of my favourite places ive been, the cafe was firther down when we went and i caught from under it. You made the best of it in rough conditions but honestly if you can go back in the warmer months it really is something else.

I’m yet to get one of the carp there but I’ve only had a couple of sessions trying to target them specifically. I’ve been feeding the royal marine pellets with scent from hell pop up barrels but judging from this I need to up my loose feed quantities. I was worried I’d overfeed in the winter months but they look happy to keep munching through them.

PVA bags with lots of smelly bag mix would be a great tactic I feel, but with the volume of bream I don't think you need to worry about over feeding also ;) tight lines
