Want to contact print my 4x5 negatives this way. Even began using a film suited for contact specifically at least it’s said to be and a soft contrast one to venture into finally doing alt process. 8x10 next year as well. If it was good enough for Weston then why do I need to go transparency printing unless I want bigger obviously

Interesting, but I’d find a way to use a fraction of that water. Alongside the environmental impact, here in the UK a large percentage of homes are on a water meter., billed by the amount of water we use. That process would process would cost us a fortune!

I got my new RB Pro-S in 1989. At the time I have only a 127mm lens. RB stayed with me through this years. Never had any problem with it.

Do you use Bichromates/Dichromates in this process ?

If you use a black tray and chlorinated tap water you will be able to see the excess silver pulled from the surface of the print.

XLNT video. I am just learning the PRO-S film backs, and want to know HOW the RED DOT is used? Should it be showing for normal shooting, or covered by switch? I do not want to double expose. THANK YOU!

you are NOT ready to shoot, on these PRO-S and PRO-SD backs, there is an interlock double exposure safety meaning if the 'switch' bellow the winding lever shows the red dot, this interlock is OFF, allowing multi-exposures!!, and if you are not carefull (remind oneself to WIND ON the film!!) it WON'T do it for you, as this is a manual camera, this safety acts on the shutter button, same as the darkslide and mirror winding lever, they all stop the shutter from completing its travel, and firing the shutter; in this case, until the winding lever is cycled, and the red tag in the frame counter disapears!, then you can shoot safetly on an un-exposed frame of film.

wow, I've never tried that, once dry. I've only tried still wet in the bath, and it's very fragile indeed. It leaves scratches no mather how delicate you are trying to be...

Where does one put the dark slide while shooting? Did you remember to remove it from the camera back?
@gamecrazyyy

You can slide it vertically behind the left side focusing knob/shoe mount. It's an actual feature and shown here in the manual (on pdf page 25): www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_rb67_professional.pdf

Are the fumes of the developer extremely harmful? Does inhaling the solution cause cancer in any way? Because I’ve read all the safety papers of the chemicals and keep getting mixed responses. Thanks.

There is no need for a safe light for salt, albumen or collodion chloride printing out paper processing

An interesting salted printing out process is Arrowroot-Chloride POP. Dissolve the sodium carbonate and citric acid, the mixture will effervesce, then add the ammonium chloride.
