Hiiii welcome back. I love seeing your art so much. I really like how she came out. Ngl I've been finding myself doing other colors for linework when I draw digitally now too in fact I sketch in other colors too like light pink or purple. As of lately I use like reddish brown colors for line work and when I do darker colors or black I start with a lighter base and work my way darker with shading. I haven't done expression art in a while maybe I should do a spread soon.

For expression, I feel there are two big things: - Hands; The placement and pose of a hand can show a lot - Exaggeration; Don't be afraid to make the face a bit cartoonish. I tried so hard not to and it always looked too neutral. Squinting or widening the eyes and pushing the brows really far up or arching them up helps the most. But open mouths in different shapes helps too. Look up 'essential expressions challenge' and you can see a lot of good examples of expressions. :D

Maybe it's too stereotypical but I always felt like boredom would be colored with either blues or oranges for some odd reason. Orange is typically a color associated with energy and blue is sadness*. My line of thinking would be that boredom would be orange because it is full of energy but it can't do anything with it😂. Maybe I should go watch inside out 2 or something.
@LucidNeema4 күн бұрын
I love your take on it! 😄 I totally get what you mean about orange representing that 'trapped energy.' Blue definitely gives off that more melancholic vibe, though. And YESSS check out Inside Out 2!!! You will not regret it.

1:50 have you used ink before? as in a proper ink pen? think of a posca like that. it's going to be TERRIBLE on certain material - paper included. Depending on the paper. It’s water based so I’m not sure what kind of paper that is that is the first point. another is on camera atleast you didn’t activate the tip. I bet you out of no where it’s going to start going well probably even during this test haha. Make sure to flip it on its writing tip end - like ink well fountain pens I also store them standing up but most importantly let it settle if you just got it - allow the paint to flow down. Popping it open and just trying to write, much like a fountain pen, will not work. it'll take a bit to flow evenly but i bet you even by the end of the video you'll get the hang of it. on a thicker medium that pen would wipe the floor with the others in my experience. for instance on some of them you have to pump the pen. next consideration, you have to take a look at the pen to see where the fibers of the nib are laying. if you don't , you'll get splatter. these seem like bugs of the pen but only exist bc of the effective del'ivery of the paint. when understood, they are features as once you get the hang of it and understand the pens proper direction, the flow rate and vibrancy is unmatched.

I know this is an old video but this absolutely came out beautifully! I was curious on how u print ur digital lineart. Is there a specific ink you use in the printer to not make it bleed? And what kind of paper?

I honestly believe that it depends on the artist. If they know how to use pastel colors and can do it rly well, then obviously they should get pastel colors. If the artist is just overall good at using them, it shouldn’t matter THAT much.😅❤

You would have had an easier time with the watercolor if you used actual watercolor paper. 100% cotton professional grade watercolor paper makes the world of difference in smooth blends with watercolor. I know this video is old but if anyone watches this I thought it only fair to know this isn’t really a fair comparison of the two. Watercolor doesn’t have to look like that, yes it can but it’s about material and techniques. Also, you’re supposed to tape the paper down first so it doesn’t buckle and also it doesn’t move all over the place like it was in the video. Using smaller brushes with less water helps too. Again this isn’t for the person that made the video, just for anyone put off on watercolors watching it because they’re worried watercolor can’t look smooth and blend nicely.

If this was a comic, the melting effect would have been super awesome. Maybe he ability is to meld and phase through walls 😆. When you attempt color challenges or marker challenges, they look easy to others, but doing them is a challenge to the artist. You don't just want a figure colored, you want a little bit or a story told and a coordination in colors 🤗❤️👍🏽💯
