I would agree that height dominance isn’t a thing. That the way dominance often defined in training isn’t correct. However since birds compete for food, mates, and resources the winning bird would be the more dominant bird. Any competitive nature is dominance. They are not at all socialistic or fair they will knock each other off a branch if it suits them.

My Kakariki loves to play with / shred my house plants. I've grown an extensive collection of plants so cross-checking what are safe plants Vs unsafe plants for parrots has been a big stress reducer, because I've removed the unsafe plants.

My parrot has no parrot toys cause he ignores them. He only wants to play with household items (especially if we want to save them and take them away from him 😂)

My cockatiel has learned to ring a bell by its self for attention 😅. Was wondering if anyone else’s bird has leaned this by its self.

I taught my Goffin Cockatoo fetch, and my mom mentioned he would probably like to do ring toss, so I can basically skip straight to having the peg. He's very smart and learned to fetch in a single day!

If your local pet store doesn’t sell them you can check grocery stores! Just ensure the seeds aren’t salted or flavoured, you can typically find sunflower seeds, sesame, or millet

@@FlockTalk millet i have, it ca work as treat but not so much, I was thinking about individual ones. My linnie does not like suflowere or sesame seeds..I saw in video ppl giving treats like the pellet size. That I was looking for.

I just go at the bird's pace. I have had multiple bird from a young age so I know when they are ready to come out of their cage etc. My latest rescue GCC came in her own cage and wanted to come out less than 24 hours after we brought her home. She ate within the first 5 mins of bringing her home after a 2 hour drive. But my IRN (despite being hand raised) needed a lot longer. He doesn't deal with change very well.

I have a question. I'm clicker training my conure, and I'm very familiar with it as I've trained my service dog that way. So my question is this. Whenever a click happens, she gets a treat. Would that not be reinforcing her a little too strongly?

Thank you very much for the tutorial. Very detailed explanation. My BFA is eight years old. I bought my harness for him when he was little. I put him on his harness once. After the first time experience he hate the harness. So never use it again. I think i can bring him out on next summer. ❤

I just lost my lovebird, i don't know what happen but i checked his sleeping at the bottom of the cage, and i bring him out, and he sleep all the time until i realize his legs to tail wet and color is dark brown, 1st thought was he been attack by other, but i'm too slow to realize he's constipated. There's poop on the butt and he's not pooping which is usually very often he do that to my shirt. He eat well but then he puke, he try to eat seeds, not want to touch his bird milk as usual, i felt he was scared, i thought he's gonna be okay.. he kissed me and the day after he just gone, he keep finding me dont want to let go til.. 😔.. i feel your sadness for mia. Best buddy 😔i learn a lot from you and mia to introduce fun to my lovely lovebird Ava.. and he's having a great life i think. Thank you

I've got a 5 month old cockatiel that I'd only had a few days before the vet prescribed antibiotics. As a first time bird owner, the vet taught me how to gently towel wrap for medicating. It's been a challenge, but so far my bird seems to only hold a grudge for a few minutes 😅 I look forward to working on your technique for any future medicine needs, thanks for making this video!
