Very interesting. Would I still need a tail, however, to side slip and/or kick a crab out for crosswind landings? Seems crabbing then rolling straight when I would have kicked out would be a setup for a downwind wheel landing with the cross picking up the upwind wing. Could I get a different way to balance this? Adjusted alignment of the gear like the B-52 seems a bit complicated to build. Some other way for managing if not outright creating yaw? Separately, what about platforms that for some reason may desire to maintain zero roll in a turn? In this, birds have advantage in shoulder joints not just elbow and wrist. They can change the axis of wing through fuselage and maintain a more flat fuselage for that SAR mapping or other need to stay straight AOB function.

This is completely nonsensical. Everyone on the flight line is flying. Raising a visual signal is completely useless. Continue to run it like how we've done it for 40 years, if it's a busy day on the flight line you have someone directing traffic. Old timers love that job and it's club hours.

Pilots focus on flying their planes, the pilot's spotter would be the one to use the paddles. There is more than one way to safely manage a busy/crowded flight line, and this is one option that has worked well for some and is worth sharing with others.

My apologies! I should not have used that term. However, to me, it is quite lengthy, before getting to the practical, actually useful information it contains.

@28:52 My RC Airplane model builder Hero, Mr Brian Taylor. His Model Plans are also a threat to watch in every detail, I remember sending him Money Orders to purchase his Plans and Glass Fibre Parts which where also Top Notch Quality, he was a master draughtsman and of Britain's Top famous Modellers, I wonder what happened to him.

The square loop was one of my favorite. I have one on the heavier side and with the bouncy landing gear it has taught me alot about landing technique. It's my first club size plane and I've been flying the paint off of it.

When I fly at the club FRIA field, no problem. I do bring copies of documents, AMA, FAA, TRUST, and so on. Just in case I'm ever challenged. When I fly at the school athletic field, I use a remote ID module and an app on my phone showing my flight boundaries. I'ts easy. Thank you, AMA.

There is no legitimate reason for any type of government surveillance - and that's what Remote ID is - of US citizen hobby activities. In fact, it's a breach of the fourth amendment to the constitution. The fact that you can't even buy a Remote ID transmitter from a US source (pretty much the only source is Drone Tag from Czech Republic) should make the law illegal.

Our government is giving away Trillions of American tax payer dollars to every country on the planet. Even countries that like us. Oil companies are payed Billions of tax payer dollars to subsidize them when they are reaping trillions of dollars. AMA needs to make insurance free and give members free models Aircraft Boats Cars and Quadcopter/Helicopters for free. The American government is wasting American tax dollars to protect countries that can protect themselves. Then claim there is no money for Education and claim no money for infrastructure. They are making Suckers out of the American people and wasting all of our money!

The retracts are on backorder forever, spinner is on backorder ( 200.00 ) forever and isn't included with the plane. Wheels cost 100.00 each and center door AR7040 servo is discontinued. Eflite retracts are on backorder and people have had problems with them. The 62cc efi engine never worked correctly and discontinued. People were having wing fit to the center section problems , look in the reviews and RC group forums. Plane made in Vietnam not China. Tower Hobbies & Horizon will not cancel your order once placed even if 5 mins later any ANY ORDER !

I have two of these planes one in the red and white scheme and the other one I did a custom red white and blue scheme wits stars its american flag themed and i did all the stars with a hobby knofe and a piece of glass and used packing tape to lift and place the stars iade from monokote on to the plane with the packing tape then itoned them down and the packing tape came right off with no problems and it looks amazing. All my large scale balsa planes like this all have custom beautiful schemes that i did by hand same with and it be stripes and zig zaged lines and two and three color lines and designs all done by hand for manyany tears from age 13-22 until o got a large 60 inch vynil plotter now i ise that to cut put all the decals and designs for my rc planes with that throw in a roll pf monokote like i would a roll of vynil for decals and graphics and then let the machine cut then i just stack the multiple layers ontop of each other if ot has two or three colors for that logo or design and then put it on the planes. Im currently working on one more citabria from great planes but im sheeting it all in and gonna give it a beautiful high gloss paintjob and the decals and logos and designs im gonna make with monokote and clear coat over those as well so everything looks like ots painted on and seemless and its gonne be the most ultra realistic scale civilian rc plane i own out of the 150 planes in my rc plane hanger. Its been a good 3 months of prep work sanding and smoothing to kake sure its perfectly smooth and flat for paint

If you are ask to test fly an airplane for the first time, you must be confident it is air worthy. Inspect inside and out, wiring, connections, fuel configuration and most important, CG. You cannot take it for granted based on someone’s word as to airworthiness. You will be pilot in command and responsible for the flight.

Just got this as my 7th rc aircraft and second balsa arf. I'm loving it and flying it with no type of safe or assistance rx right now but planning on installing and flight stabilizer and programmer to get better for stable scale looking flights and a recover button or panic button just in case I do something db and don't lose this beautiful plane. My first arf balsa planes is the escapade great planes 68" sport plane with a .95 cu in 2 stroke motor on it and it's a blast to fly and I went from literally a few flite test planes and the older apprentice s15e I got 8 years ago and still fly it with no dents or scratches in it and my fms cessn v2 scale plabe now this. I do plan on putting a stabilizer on it but nervous about it with a gas balsa plane and programing it correctly I feel safer with this and my other balsa planes o mentioned by having full control of the plane on my own. I also have a bunch other planes that are smaller park flyers but this is my 7th bigger plane that is bigger then a park flyers type plane. I also got a few more arf balsa planes and two balsa laser cut dancing wings kits I gotta build started

Yet another sad comment...Bill Heger, the designer of the Knight Twister and numerous other aircraft, died last month. Bill and Jack had remained close friends over the years and spoke and e-mailed often, even though they were separated by great distance. As time goes on I realize more each day that we are losing the final members of the generation that built the RC modeling world. I commend the AMA for keeping their memories alive.

I wish I watched this video before trying to install my floats today! Way to hard to push in those floats. One of the planes plastic red connectors that’s glued to the bottom inside of the fuselage came loose and the other side next to the two holes in in the fuselage bottom started cracking the foam. I gave up for now. Don’t want to cause anymore damage to my otter. I wish they used stronger foam for the UMX lineup…
