What did you support the awning with when you removed the motor assembly! Mine is 126” above the ground.
@WeekendRVAdventures5 ай бұрын
As long as you tie the arms off so it can't unroll it will stay in place. The motor doesn't actually hold the awning to the arms.
@davidhittenberger16515 ай бұрын
@@WeekendRVAdventures if you disconnect the rollled awning from the gearbox shaft on the motor, don’t you need to hold the awning up-seems like it would want to fall?? My main awning on my Jayco 36SSWS won’t extend. Gonna supply voltage to the motor and then, maybe have to replace it…

The shaft on the awning goes through a bushing on the arm before going into the gearbox.

Best way to remove oxidation is to dry sand with 1000 grit or 1200 grit to remove most of the oxidation. It will fall off like powder and you will start to see the Shine. Then do it just how you explained!! But you did great And I been detailing RVs for 10 years! The dry sand will stop any gum up because you remove the oxidation mostly which is like powder. Slow process no doubt lol
@cnrails6 ай бұрын
You are absolutely insane. Dry sanding or wet sanding should only be done in rare cases. That is absolute madness to wither down a thin enough clear coat as it is. He should be compounding it with a circular buffer, not a DA. Da’s are great for waxing but absolutely should not be used for compounding. Your sanding advice is absolutely terrible.

I just bought one(Tandem) and have a lot of regrets. Pro's cheap stable in calm waters Cons Seats are very uncomfortable heavy, will need large truck to transport wider kayat so does not move easily through water Hard to propel if winds are 20+ Unable to add better seats, trolling motor mount and trolling motor due to curvature in design Bought for 800.00 and cant give it away for 200.00

Thanks for sharing the video. Was that an “off the shelf” hitch? I’m am about to pull the trigger on one for my trailer. I’ve learned that they will custom make one that is 3” longer for greater cab clearance. I have a short bed RAM and wasn’t sure if that would be necessary.
@WeekendRVAdventures9 ай бұрын
My hitch is definitely the standard length. I wasn't aware they even made custom hitches. I still haven't had any trouble making a turn or backing in anywhere and that's after two seasons of camping with the Gen-Y hitch.
@charlesharmon13389 ай бұрын
@@WeekendRVAdventures thanks for the quick reply! My dealer talked me out of the gooseneck (the Reese at the time) when we got our trailer. They said there was no way to run it with the short bed and I’d have to get a sliding hitch. Fast forward 2 years and I’ve never had to slide my hitch…time to get my bed back.

Is the Gen Y hitch approved by Alliance RV, so the warranty is still good on the RV.
@WeekendRVAdventures8 ай бұрын
As far as I know Alliance hasn't certified any aftermarket hitches although I really wouldn't let that deter you. In my opinion, the warranty on a new RV is so short it really doesn't matter.

Lippert bad mouths the Anderson is a joke. The reason they don't like Anderson it is there frames are so weak that we now know, they are the ones with frames that are failing, this is why they won't indorse them. I would not buy a Lippert anything. Lippert has screwed over lot s of RV consumers.

Great video. With all the frame flex issues showing on the forums etc., I have an honest question when it comes to 5th wheel campers. Why do the manufacturers just not design and build a camper with a traditional gooseneck instead of 5th wheel pin box to avoid these issues when consumers are trying to convert to a gooseneck style receiver. That way, consumers dont have to worry about having to move a several hundred pound hitch in and out of the truck bed? Thanks for the video.
